no, sorry both parents died when i was very young, but i had dark hair and blue eyes i that helps.
 
according to my scanner it was 330 dpi som sorry if its not.

just found a james mclaren born in logie perth in 1872,parents are thomas mclaren and janet gillies, so that rules this one out.

found a james mclaren in 1881 census in perth born in menstrie in 1878 but gives his age as 8 staying with his aunt and uncle janet and robert gillian, have no idea if this is him or not.  coming to the conclusion not meant to find anyone.

hello again,yes tried sp but no marriage of  john to elizabeth if he was a sailor they could have been married anywhere in uk not found his death cert.yet. just like the smith side i,m running into brick walls and getting nowhere. thanks for all your help

no they are all legal,in the 1881 census one staying with grandparents,one is staying with aunt and uncle and one with parents, 1891 census he is in lanark /shotts area aged 19 boarder coalminer.in 1892 he gets married in slammannan
