Hi, Sillgen,

Have found another family tree for Charles Stent. It has father Charles Stent and Mother Harriet? but born Devonshire 1821. Any chance you could look this up in Devonshire Please.
I did see the Charles Stent & Sarah Cooper sometime ago.

Was there an 1831 census done in England?

Cheers

 Hi,

Is there anyway I could get information of the Tollemache Family of Ham House, Employees of the 1833 to 1841. Would it have there place of birth.

Interested in Charles Stent aged abt 20yrs in 1820 a labourer, who the Tollemache Family  sent out to New Zealand with 2 other single men and  3 married men with wives and families to Wellington.
I have read info on Ham House history.

Cheers

Surrey Lookup Requests / Re:Tollemach & Ham House.

Hi Janet,

You have helped with my brick wall with your finding on the Tollemachs and Ham House.

One of the single men sent to Wellington, New Zealand with the married families was Charles Stent a farm labourer aged 20yrs. I have been looking for his birth place in Surrey for many years. His death certificate has no parents or birth place.  What is the distance from Ham House & Fittleworth, as there are Stents living in the area. A Crest was at a Family reunion in 1982 had the name Fittleworth  mentioned on it.
Any help would be very much appreciated.

Cheers

Hi Richard,

Mmm interesting. You have more info on the will than I found. Thankyou.

I do have another Bearns/Barnes name that could be of interest.

Robert  & Mary Bearns/Barnes. He married Mary King of Sturton Caundel 15/8/1729

They had a Thomas born 21/11/1735 Lydlinch. Richard & Mary had 6 sons.

Would this be reasonably close to East Stoke,Wool etc?

Regards

Hi Lizzie L,
Thank you for your reply.
Yes I have George Barns of Combe & Susanna, (nee Scot of Wool) married 20 April 1734  Nearest possilility,  Is there any way of finding any confirmation other than Family History Centre  and looking at the original entries, and what would they show.  The further back in time you go there is less info on the entry.
Kindest Regards
Tweedie
