Ireland / GAHY, GUY, GREY

2ggrandmother Margaret GAHY or GUY or GREY b.c1826 from Northern Ireland, so the family story goes. That's the extent of my knowledge. She was also illiterate. Found her signing with "her mark" in 1870's.
She immigrated to Adelaide, South Australia in 1846 - found her in the shipping records under the name GREY.
Her marriage records from the Catholic Archives show the name as GAHY, but that could be read as Grey. Records in Adelaide in 1847 were very sparse - no names or ages, places of birth or parents or any other helpful details for the researcher. Catholic Archives gave me all they had which was date, names, where, priest and witnesses.
First child born was Ellen. Was told the Irish name their first child from parents' names - only thing to go on.
Don't know where to go to search. Any suggestions to uncover this mystery - please, can someone help?
