Lancashire Lookup Requests / Re: Census Look Up – THOMAS - Liverpool 1861 & 1871
« on: Tuesday 13 February 07 17:48 GMT (UK)  »
Bryant,

Thank you very much for this information. I can't imagine how long that would have taken me to find!

Sorry about my inefficiency on the 1851 details ...

Would it now be possible for anybody to find me the same family in 1871?

Thanks again.

Mark.

Bryant:

Sorry for delay in replying. I was just trawling through some old posts ...

I don't have ages for George and Margaret but I do know the names of their children. They are:

Margaret, John, Richard (My G GF), Mary and Eliza. Also, I have George listed as a labourer in 1851.

Thanks for your help!

Alan,

Firstly, thank you very much for your troubles and the time taken to help me.

I was really disappointed to learn that there is no stone but at least I know now. I would like to have a photograph of the grave itself with the adjacent graves for my records but only if you are going again anyway and it is not too much trouble.

Sabina was my grandmother's sister and George and Mary Ann were my GG Granparents. My grandmother was born in Roker Avenue. George moved to Merseyside to work at the shipyards here in  Birkenhead (Lairds).

Thanks again for your help. It was very kind of you and much appreciated.

Is there anybody who visits this cemetery regularly and uses a digital camera who might be able to photoraph a grave for me (as I live on Merseyside) and send me a digital image via email?

The grave in question is as follows:

SABINA MUTTON Daughter of George William Mutton and Mary Ann Mutton

Ward 13 A (CD) 2567

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.  :)

Mark.

Worcestershire / MOORE FAMILY, Horsefair 1841
« on: Tuesday 26 September 06 13:21 BST (UK)  »
Hello,

I have just made a breakthrough in my research from the 1841 census.

I had been searching for a Joseph Moore born in Hanbury (given on a later census) but there was no such birth in the BMD. I was advised to try Droitwich but still could not find him.

Anyway, it would appear that his birthplace is given as Kidderminster (found on FREEBMD as an 1837 birth). Do people living in the area think this fits? ie/ Hanbury = Kidderminster.

In the census, I have:

Joseph Moore (parents) my GGG GP
Martha Moore

William Moore (children)
Martha Moore
Joseph Moore 1837 my GG GF
John Moore

They are listed as living in Horsefair, Kidderminster. Can anybody tell me anything further about this?

Many thanks, Mark.  :)

Cheshire / Re: Ionic Street, Rock Ferry MILITARY HOSPITAL

Neptune.

Thanks again for your interest.

I contacted The Bantams website and the repy told me that the "military hospital" closed to make way for The Bantams (as you have just discovered).

I was also told that there was no particular connection between those treated there and The Bantams. Therefore, John George THOMAS could have been in another regiment.

I have just had a quick look at the other website you recommended . It looks promising. hving said that ... it's been a long time and I just can't find his regiment.

P.S. He survived the war.

Thatnks again.  ;)
