Derry (Londonderry) / Re: Looking for Marriage 29th May 1906
« on: Monday 25 March 24 19:06 GMT (UK)  »
Hello

Thanks for all your searches and suggestions - never ceases to amaze me how much info roots chat finds. Does it look as if Ellen Mailey and Hugh McLaughlin were not married when Susan and Ellen were born in Greenock in 1907 and 1908, and latterly married in 1910??

1st attachment Ellen born 1908, 2nd attachment death of Ellen (the mother nee Mailey) in 1921, 3rd birth of Susan in 1907

Sorry for delay in replying,
Cheers

Derry (Londonderry) / Looking for Marriage 29th May 1906
« on: Sunday 24 March 24 19:16 GMT (UK)  »
Hello
Searching for a marriage record of Hugh McLaughlin to Ellen Mailey 29th May 1906, Limavady, Co Londonderry, Ireland.
On Scotlands People birth of Susan McLaughlin 23rd June 1907 Greenock to above names which is where I’ve picked up marriage details from. Unable to find marriage in my searches on Irish sites.
Ellen McLaughlin born Greenock 25 Nov 1908 and parents listed marriage as same date.
Ellen McLaughlin nee Mailey dies in Greenock aged 39 25th June 1921. Her parents listed as Joseph Mailey (deceased) and Ellen nee Connor (deceased).
Am trying to locate info on who Hugh McLaughlin’s parents might be?

On Scotlands People 1921 census,
Hugh aged 46 from Co. Derry Dunled (?)
Ellen aged 39, Limavady
Susan aged 14, Greenock
Ellen aged 13, Greenock
Charles aged 9, Co Derry Coleraine
Joseph, aged 5, Greenock
Hugh aged 1, Greenock

Thanks

Hello
Other marriage entries in same hand writing in Limavady, father’s first name was shorten, such as Wm etc. had searched Cornelius in case it was written as Conl. No Cornelius, Carl etc in family or variants of, no descendants with similar names, was at a dead end after searching through other entries looking for a name it could be.
Thanks

It never fails to amaze me how fantastic you all are on roots chat. Big thank you to you all.

She’s Mary Jane (later it’s written as McLaughlin), large family of McLarey’s most of whom went to US. There’s two daughters of Mary & Michael came to Scotland. One of them married in Port Glasgow.

Amazing, thanks

Good morning
Anyone able to assist with Father's first name on marriage of Mary Ann McLoughlin to Michael McLarey in 1877 in Limavady, Northern Ireland?
Mary's Father's name - Is it an abbreviation? Tried searching other marriages of McLoughlin's or McLaughlin's around same time in case there was a sibling.
Many thanks

Hi
A wee update - thanks to assistance on roots chat, we were contacted by living descendants of my great grandfather who had no idea there was a large extensive family in Ireland and now across the globe. Family were able to provide them with some photos and more info about great grandfathers family tree.
