Galway / Re: Applying for an Irish passport

barryd, yes, that's right. All these certificates are needed to register you as an Irish citizen (Registration of Birth Abroad). Once you get that piece of paper you can go on to apply for a passport, which is then just a formality.
I did all this about three years ago. I was able to get my grandfather's birth certificate though - I don't know if they still accept a baptism certificate as they used to do.

These are great.
japeflakes, no you haven't taken too much off, it's very effective.
stevew101, you did the job perfectly.
I think I'm going to use both of them, a kind of then and now thing. It was the car that really shouldn't have been there. If I'd been thinking at the time, I should have gone back ten minutes later and taken another photo!

Sorry that has come out so big. I'm not very good at this. Is it useless like this?

Thanks stevew101, that's really nice, I've downloaded that too.

Same topic, is it possible to take off the car in this image?  It shows the plot of land where my dad's family farm used to be in the 1920s. The colour can remain on this one as I think it needs it. I've cropped as much as I can - the pavement on the left is important as it shows how close to the school it is.
Thanks a lot.

You are all the best as usual!   These are all great. I'm downloading all of them and deciding which to use. Thanks so much.

Could someone please restore this photo to black and black and make it look like 1920s?  Thanks.

Ireland Resources / Re: birth in 1934, can I get a certificate?
« on: Monday 09 January 17 06:35 GMT (UK)  »
Thanks all, I'll apply for the 4 euro research copy at the GRO. I was getting confused with the 100-year rule, which I suppose only applies to seeing it online. I've got the quarter and volume and page from Family Search.

Ireland Resources / birth in 1934, can I get a certificate?
« on: Sunday 08 January 17 15:43 GMT (UK)  »
Well, the title says it all. I can't seem to find the info online. Birth registered in Galway in 1934. Will the GRO give me a research copy?

Monaghan / Re: children of Kelly/Duffy
« on: Monday 19 September 16 06:21 BST (UK)  »
I think we might be talking at crossed purposes here. I meant the two spellings for Crieve/Creeve.  It's a place in Monaghan but apparently not the name of a parish there, as the NLI site is giving me only Elphin.

I had also already looked up those two for Aughnamullen but I can't find the baptism I'm looking for.
Still can't find any of those three baptisms I'm looking for, but I do appreciate your help.
