London & Middlesex Completed Lookup Requests / Re: Enfield Parish Registers
« on: Wednesday 13 July 05 22:13 BST (UK)  »
Thanks Linnet
I have the info from LDS. The entry for Thomas Chappell birth 1832, parents John Chappell and Catherine Kitt is whats stumping me. There are no  other records of Catherine Kitt that I can find, and I suspect that Kitt was not her surename. There also doesn't appear to be any other children with the same parents. I haven't been able to get any 1851 census info for them either.
I was hoping someone could look at the original record and give me all the information that is there.

Thanks for your help

Regards
Jackie

London & Middlesex Completed Lookup Requests / Enfield Parish Registers

If anyone should have access to the parish registers for Enfield, would they kindly look up the birth of Thomas Chappell (Chapple) in 1832/1833. His father was John Chappell.

Any other Chappell (Chapple) births around that time with the same parents would be really useful to me too.

Thanks in advance

Completed Census Requests / Re: 1861 census lookup Middlesex/Marylebone (Chapple)

Thanks Allan
I recently looked on there myself and found them.  It solves one puzzle - why I couldn't find Jane. She was Actually called Eugenia.
Thanks again

Hi Mark
I think you have already been in touch with my sister, Carol.
We are not convinced that Louisa Biles was Fannys mother now. Her father Henry, apparantly was a publican and there is a Henry Norris at 1871 who is a Beer Seller and grocer, married to Louisa.  It was a long shot.  The Jafkins family seem to be a very difficult bunch to trace.

Hi James

I have just discovered that the 1861 census for Middlesex is available at www.1837online.com
In case you haven't been there, its a fee based lookup (3 units for a census lookup).
5 GBP for 55 units

Hope it helps. It certainly helped me.

Hi Rick

Thanks for looking.

Hi Rick,
Thanks anyway. How about a Cath(a)erine Chappell (Chapple) or a John Chappell (Chapple) His occupation was a Baker. They would be around 50 years of age.

Thanks

Jackie

Hi Rick
According to a marriage certificate that I have, at Sept 14th 1851, Thomas Chapple (Chappell) (b Enfield c1832) and Mary Griffiths (b Bristol c1827) were living at 17 Brook Street. They may not have been there at the time of the census but were probably in the area somewhere. I'm assuming the parish is St Giles as that was where they were married.

Thanks for your help.
