Tipperary / Re: 1901 Tipp. Census Lookup

Seems I was wrong, they didn't come from Kilfeacle, they actually came from Tipperary Town. Will have to do more reserach.

On a different note: where exactly is St. Michael's Roman Catholic Cemetery. Finally got in contact with McGrath relatives this morning and they told me my relatives are buried here and mentioned it was on the road to Kilfeacle.

McGrath was the Surname.  John was the father, think Bridget was mother. Children I know of at the time would have been Catherine 3 y.o., Bridget, Paddy, Phil I'm sure there were other children at the time also. Think they were in the Parish of Kilfeacle, Fethard or Roscrea.

Trying to find a birth record for kate or Catherine McGrath.
According to her death certificate of 1942 died in County Home, Thurle's she was 38 years of age.

According to her marriage certificate of February 13, 1925 in Tipperary Town when she married Thomas Shanahan she was
of full age and was shown as being from Tipperary? possibly town. Her father was listed as John McGrath occupation a carman.

Any help appreciated. Am doing a genealogy for mother's 80th birthday.

Thank You

Tipperary / McGrath

My grandmother who died at the age of 38 (when my mother was 12-13 y.o.) according to her death certificate she died at the Thurles County Home on August 1, 1942. She died of Blood Poisoning. I think after the birth of a child, because my mother remembers her being pregnant. I also have her marriage certificate to Thomas Shanahan on February 13, 1925 in Tipperary Town. It states her fathers name was John McGrath and that she was from Tipperary (I assume they mean Tipperary Town). My grandfather was residing in Templemore at the time of the marriage,  he was a soldier, although all of his family is from Roscrea. I have his birth certificate. Alll of the children (6 in all) were sent to different area  orphanages/schools  prior to my grandmothers death until they became of age. I am trying to find where exactly Catherine McGrath was born and both of her parents names, so that I can further my research for my motheres 80th birthday which is in December. I am going to Ireland next month for a visit with relatives and also to do major research so that I can present it to my mother. I have located relatives McGrath that are in the Cahir area, just waiting for them to call me back.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank You

Tipperary / 1901 Tipp. Census Lookup
« on: Friday 05 September 08 23:35 BST (UK)  »
About 5 years ago I was able to do a lookup on the 1901 Census.

I found my grandmothers family listing as being from Kilfeakle.

Never printed it out. Then stopped research due to helath issues.  Now all better and resuming seaches.

It had them as

John- Head of house
Bridget- wife
Children:
Paddy
Phil
Mary
Catherine
Bridget

Can anyone verify this for me and point me in the right direction to view the census for kilfeacle.

Thank You and Regards
Catherine
