I should clarify:  One of their children MIGHT HAVE BEEN my great-great-grandmother, Mary Munley born 1845 or 1847.

These two, Ellen "Nellie" Reape and Michael Monelly are possible parents for my ancestor.  Trying to make the connection....

I am researching a "Nellie" Reap/Reape/Ralph who married Michael Monnelly/Munnelly circa 1840 in the Belmullet area.  They had children born between 1845 and 1859.  One of them was my great-great-grandmother, Mary Munley born 1845 or 1847.  She married a Gaughan and later immigrated to Scranton area, Pennsylvania.  There were other Reape families in the area as well.

Any connection?

Looking for help from anyone with either a connection to or information on:

Michael Monally (or Munnelly) and Ellen Reape (or Ralph).  Their children included Denis born 10/01/1845, Catherine 11/04/1852, Margaret 06/02/1859 and possibly my great grandmother Mary born about 1847 and another child Patrick.  They lived in Tallaghan or Tallaghanbane.

Thank you

Hi Marianne -

You and I have crossed paths before, I think.

My Mary Munnelly was born about 1847.  According to her church marriage record, she was from Tallaghan and her father's name was Michael Munnelly.  I don't know her mother's name.  (Although, I am currently searching the name Eleanor or Nellie Reap as a possibility)

In some hand written notes from a relative, now deceased, the siblings of Mary Munnelly were Rose, Kate, Michael, Patrick and Dennis.

Received marriage record for Peter Gaughan and Mary Munnelly.  Peter was from Shraigh and his father's name was Austin Gaughan.  Mary was from Tallaghan and her father's name was Michael Munnelly.  They were married 15 Feb 1868 in Belmullet chapel (RC).

Anyone related?

Thanks Audrey -

May I ask...where the info came from and what your search parameters were?  My great-grandmother should show up, but she was born many years later (1879 - 1881).  Also, I think she had sisters: Margaret, Rose, Agnes??

Antrim / Kane (O'Kane) / McNeill

Can anyone tell me any more about the following:

Bernard O'Kane and Elizabeth McNeill were married June 18, 1864 in the Roman Catholic Church in Cushendall.

They were farmers in Kinune, Glendun, County Antrim.  His name has shown up as both Kane and O'Kane.

Also, is there a way to find out children from this marriage?  One was my great-grandmother, Mary Kane.  I'm looking for her siblings.

Hi Marybeth -

Thank you for your response.  She immigrated in 1883.  Their ship was one of the first to leave Blacksod Bay under Free Emmigration.  Mary (Munnelly) Gaughan and her husband Peter Gaughan settled in Winton Borough, now Jessup, Pennsylvania with their three sons.  I believe that she had a brother Patrick who also settled there.  He went by Patrick Munley.

Any help would be much appreciated.

All the best,
Trish
