As far as I know Benjamin Hancock was born about 1812 (c. 1812 Swaffham Bulbeck) and his father was James Hancock who possibly married a Mary.

Hi twink, I think we are related as I have James Hancock b 1780 in Swaffham Bulbeck and is the son of Benjamin Hancock and Hannah Adams. I am descended from James's sister Martha Hancock b 1794. James married Mary Ayres ( another relation) in Stow cum Quy in 1809.

Huntingdonshire Lookup Requests / Re: MARY BRAND born 1802
« on: Wednesday 22 April 09 23:17 BST (UK)  »
I have pretty well run out of lines of inquiry. I have still got two requests out that have not yet been answered but I don't hold out much hope.

I have, however received a warning about trying to find out about great great grandma Mary Brand and that is I may discover that I am a close relative of either Russell or Jo. Should that happen it might be kinder of you not to tell me ::)

I am not sure if this help you at all, but there are some Brands from around Ely in Wentworth in the late 1700's. This is where I have traced mine too before one branch moved to Bottisham.

Hello Roger
Yes it's certainly fun, looks like the entire villages were related in some way.  I saw your earlier posts re Rice Golding from Bottisham but they're not on my tree.... yet!  They might be on Ben's though.... if you do turn out to be related to my husband then you're probably also related to Ben too!

I didn't see a link in any of your posts about the Hancocks?  Perhaps I'm looking in the wrong place.

Brenda

Hi Brenda

You will find these on your tree , Mary Ann Golding is the the daughter of Alfred Golding and Sarah Fordham, and descended from Benjamin Hancock and Martha Adams. Alice was her daughter. You will find Mary Ann in the Golding file I sent you.

Ben

Hello Ben
Just how many ways are you related to my husband???!!  ;)   Is your Benjamin Hancock in your Golding or Noble tree that you sent me, or is this another, separate line?

Brenda

I'm sure there are plenty of other ways I am related to your husband as I have Butlers as well! This is on the Golding side of the family. Martha Hancocks granddaughter was Sarah Fordham,b 1844 in Quy, married Alfred Golding. Alfred and Sarah Golding are my GGG Grandparents and they are on the list of Goldings I sent you. How is your husband related to the Hancocks?
