Hello. Sorry to squeeze in on your conversation, but was wondering if this Agnew Skimming was the one that was married to Isabella Richardson from Leswalt, Wigtownshire, Scotland.

Thank you,

Have the same problem. I have cousin matches that are in Scotland that I would love to hear from (I'm in the USA) but have not gotten any answers back. As of yet I haven't had a single person reach out to me. Very disappointing.

Canada / Re: Georgina BARTIE / PIRIE - help need please - possible Vancouver
« on: Wednesday 01 July 15 23:47 BST (UK)  »
Just happened upon this today, hope five years later isn't too late to get in touch. The Georgina Bartie that I know about is the one that married William Thom Bartie. I knew her when I was a very small child, always called her Aunt Jean - did not know her name was Georgina until I started working on the McAllister family tree. She was the sister of Margaret Kyle McAllister (nee Richardson), and the Aunt of my grandfather, Henry McAllister.

I don't know much about her, and know nothing about her husband's family - would you like to exchange information?

Talked to my Mother tonight, and she said that Aunt Jean was indeed Georgina.  She said that Aunt Jean married later in life, her husband's name was Bill Bartie and that they lived in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

Hi Karen, thanks so much for the information on the Richardson line.  Now I know where the Kyle comes in as a family name. I was told that it was a family name, my Mother's middle name is Kyle.

When I was very small I went with my grandparents, Henry & Della McAllister, to Canada to visit my great-great Aunt Jean. She was the sister of great Grandma McAllister (Margaret Richardson).  I will have to ask my Mother if she knows if this was the Georgina on your list of names.  By any chance to you know what happened to the rest of the siblings? Which one is your family line?

Thanks again. Getting all this information from the wonderful people on here is super!

Wigtownshire / Margaret Kyle Richardson of Stranraer
« on: Saturday 11 October 08 03:00 BST (UK)  »
Trying to find information on my great-grandmother, Margaret Kyle Richardson. She was born in Stranraer on March 06, 1879. I don't know the names of her parents, but was told that Kyle was a family name. Not sure if this means that it was a surname that was given to her as a middle name, or if it was just a name the family liked to pass on.

She left Scotland for Canada around 1912, were she married Henry McAllister (he was from Lanarkshire) on October 18, 1912 in Collingwood East, British Columbia, Canada. They had three children: Margaret, Henry and Andrew. They later moved to the United States, settling in Seattle, Washington.

This is all the information that I have, not much to go on I know. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
