Australia / Information on C.Cunningham
« on: Monday 15 August 22 15:31 BST (UK)  »
Hi, After my aunty died back in the mid 1960's & is now buried at Springvale, Vic.the family lost complete track of my uncle Charles after the funeral. His date of birth is unknown to me but I dare say he is dead many years now. His name was Charles Cunningham and apart from the fact he married my aunt Betsy,( who was a war widow by then). My aunt was born in Long Eaton on Dec 30th 1911.Charles and Betsy were married in Melbourne I believe sometime after WW2.I would dearly love to find Charles's resting place on behalf of the remaining family. We believe he may have had a brother that was a doctor but that is all we know. It's a long shot, but if anyone could help locate him it would make us all feel much better knowing where he is.If i manage to obtain any other details i will post them.
Many thanks.

Family History Beginners Board / Hooton family search
« on: Monday 15 August 22 09:51 BST (UK)  »
Hi all,Im trying to trace family members relating to Walter Hooton (d.o.b unknown) He married Betsy (nee Fletcher) & had three daughters, Mary, Elizabeth and Florence. The family moved from Yarmouth to Long Eaton soon after Mary was born on 4 Feb 1869 & Walter then entered the lace trade until his death in 1909.I have an oil painting that is dated 1888 and signed by L.Hooton? I have no idea who this is. I do have a copy of the "Seal of henry de Hooton, Lord of Hooton"granted  in the reign of King John. This is in a Fletcher family tree book & all related. If anyone is able to assist in anyway at all it would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks.

Hi,this might be a long shot but does anyone have any access to any information at all on LOUIS HERMANN FERDINAND ANNERT,
he was born in EGGESIN in Germany in 1864. He was apparently a merchant seaman.I know that he came to N.S.W in Australia and married Sophia Laura Smith in 1895.
It's his German ancestry info that I am chasing. Any help at all regarding this first link is very much appreciated, thanks all so much.

Australia / Re: ALLAN lookup please

Thanks so much for all your help on this one Genni all the info was a big help to me. FYI I think they (poss Percy Allen)also owned a house in Heidelberg. It was called "Banyule" from memory.(now a suburb I believe)
I can only ever recall going there once or twice as a child but do remember going back in the late 70's to have a sticky and was sad to see all the changes that had been made. The land was all subdivided and the house had been purchased by the Victorian art gallery from memory. Access was extremely limited at the time and staff were not very helpful. Ah progress eh!, a sad thing sometimes..
