Can someone check for any rolls between 1883 - 1910 for:

Robert Smith
Margaret Smith or Margaret McCreadie   Maybe in the area of Maryborough or Innsfail and should be together. Trying to find out when Robert Smith died.

Could someone please check for William Blair and/or Daisy Alice Blair or Daisy Alice Meiers on the 1950-51 electoral rolls? They should be in Queensland maybe around Enoggera. I know they married sometime between 1949 and 1954. I just don't know when. I have them in 1949 and 1954.

Thanks so much, Sherry Harris

Hi Mary-Ellen, thank you. I don't believe either were Irish Catholic, although I don't know that for sure. They were abt 13 years different in age. Robert James Wright Sr. born c. 1849 and Mary Johns Angwin c. 1862.

As far as I know Robert did not have a family before migrating to Australia. I haven't found his immigration so I don't know that for certain.

The only child between the two was Robert James Jr. born 1880. The last name on his birth certificate is Angwin, but he used Wright as an adult. I'm pretty sure he was illegitimate.

I believe they lived together for over 20 years and were not married. So strange that after all that time together, Mary Johns married, as a 50 year old woman, to someone else and Sr. wasn't dead.

Maybe she stayed with him to raise her son and give him a father and then left when he was grown. Although the marriage didn't occur until Jr. was 32!!

Thank you, Mary-Ellen. I appreciate your taking your time to research this for me.

Can you tell me if common-law marriage was an acceptable practice back then in Australia?

I don't believe Robert James Wright and Mary Johns Angwin were married, but she's using his last name. I haven't been able to find a marriage record for them. Makes me wonder since she married someone else later on and I don't believe there's a divorce record.

Oops, sorry about that. I see where you said earlier it would be awhile before you could check the Bulletin records. Thank you.

Hi everyone - I need an obituary for Robert James Wright who died 12 Dec 1923 in Townsville, QLD.  He's supposedly buried at the Townsville Cemetery. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi - Can anyone take a digital photo at Mt. Thompson Crematorium and Memorial Gardens in Brisbane for me?  I live in the USA.

I would appreciate a photo of the name plaque for Robert James Wright who died 29 July 1970. (My husband's grandfather)

He has a single niche in Wall 75 Section 8.

Also, his mother is there, Mary Johns (Angwin) Marshall, although I don't know exactly where. She was cremated, so she's probably in a niche too. A photo of her name plaque would also be greatly appreciated.

If another photo of the walls showing location could be taken that would be wonderful.

Thanks for any help you can give me in this.
