Hi
Don't know if this has been posted already.
Just had an email from National Archives saying

We’re pleased to announce that soon we will be providing free access to digitised collections that are available on our website (and usually chargeable) for as long as we are closed to the public. We’ll publish more details when this goes live.

I have details of the pub transfers, thanks.

Just realised I don't have Alice in 1901, but she is housekeeper to George Hulett - carpenter - in 1911. They are in Bedford. She is listed as widow.

Still in Bedford in 1939.

Handwriting Deciphering & Recognition / Name of second witness. Louisa ?

Can anyone read the name of the 2nd witness on thie marriage record that is on An...try.
London Church of England Banns and Marriages. Ernest Jaques and Alice Jeakings. St Mark. Old Street 11th January 1887. (Sorry-can't work out how to add cropped attachment)

I cannot find Ernest Jaques after 1891 and wondered if the witness name would help me. I have Alice sorted, just need Ernest.
Many thanks

The Listed Buildings site has this:

 'Sor I ssegn ande
mak my mon, the sschryn ys here the bodys goon'.

Wall painting in The Old Swan House, Harwich.

I looked down the list on the site and this one was the second I looked into. It must have wanted to be found!!

Not sure if the wording is the same. Looks very similar

You're welcome Romilly

I just used the name Frederick, date and place of birth - no surname.
I've used this method for a lot of mine that are easily open to mis-transcription. You do sometimes get a lot to trawl through - depending on where they are from but mine all seem to be from small villages so it works.
