It is cheaper to apply for the record in the South. GRO holds all Ireland records up to 1922, 26 counties after 1922

There are 4 children listed for Alexander McMaster and Sarah Campbell In Antrim

Jane 1881
Alexander 1884
George 1886
Mary Ann 1888

Jane may be a transcription error for James

Derry (Londonderry) / Simpson & McKeown Families
« on: Tuesday 21 August 12 16:48 BST (UK)  »
James Simpson married Mary McKeown 18 Nov 1874. James father was John Ballyvelton, Mary's father Samuel, Ballylagan.
They married in Ballyrashane Church, Coleraine. I am trying to find the maiden name of both John's and Samuel's' wives.

James sister Ellen Mary shows up in the 1901 and 1911 census, James & Mary also turn up with their son Samuel.

I believe there is a book the" Families of Ballyrashane" if someone has a copy would they mind doing a look up.

Has anyone access to local cemetery records, something may turn up. I have located John's will on PRONI, his wife and daughter had already died 1889.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Hi Hilary,

I believe that Jeremiah was originally from Letter which is a few miles outside Cahirciveen. 4 of my grandmothers sisters married telegraphists.

1881 Slaters Directory of Cahirciveen Jeremiah is recorded as a Grocer and Draper it also says he was a Butter Exporter. In all probability Jeremiah J

Keating who is listed in the 1901 Census was a son of Jeremiah who was living in Waterville 1901 with his daughter Ellen.

http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Kerry/Caher/Main_Street/1403664/

Jeremiah J was born 1857, father Jeremiah Keating and Margaret Sullivan, there are other children recorded to the couple including Catherine 1861.

There was also another Butter Exporter in Main Street, Cahirciveen, Maurice Keating.

Hi Jim,

One of my relations in the US, his g grandfather Richard Dowling who was the brother of Essie who married John Grumley.

1901 census Essie's mother Catherine Dowling aged 60 is living with her mother Catherine Conroy aged 90, her husband is living in an adjoining

townland, Thomas Doolan is living with his son Thomas. 1911 Catherine aged 90 and Thomas the father have died, Thomas the son is living in Meelick

with his mother. Did John & Essie have kids, did Thomas, Essie's brother Marry.

Thank you

I am researching a John Grumley who married an Esther "Essie" Dowling 1908.

They turn up in the 1911 Irish census living in Meelick, Rossenallis.

Did they have any children?

John died 1948, Essie 1952

Any help much appreciated.

My Aunt Noreen married Eoin O'Connell in Cahirciveen 1948, Eoin's sister Niamh married Toddy O'Sullivan, Gresham Hotel, Dublin.

I believe their son Conaill still holds the record for the swim the point to Valentia.
