Cambridgeshire / Re: Death certificate - Linton

Thank you SO much everyone!  :) I now realise the silly mistake I made. Rather than Linton, I entered Cambridgeshire into the place of death.
I have now ordered and received the digital certificate...and looked at and uploaded the burial record.

Your advice has been wonderful. Thank you!  :)

Cambridgeshire / Death certificate - Linton
« on: Sunday 17 March 24 01:05 GMT (UK)  »
Hi,
I am trying to purchase a copy of a death certificate for an ancestor of mine.
I have the following information from FreeBMD (via Ancestry)

Name: James Brown
Quarter: Oct-Dec
Place: Linton, Cambridgeshire
Death Date: Dec 1837
Vol: 14
Page: 49

However, when I go to GRO to order the certificate, no match is found so, therefore, I am unable to order it.

Does anyone here know if the certificate may be available from a records office in Cambridgeshire itself .. and be able to point out how I reach it? (I'm in Australia so am unable to visit in person).
Many thanks,
Sandra

Thanks for your interest Manukarik (sorry for the time delay .. I am in Australia so miss immediate messages.)
I do have a copy of the burial transcript and image ... it's the official death certificate that I am trying to locate. However, as has been suggested, I don't think one exists.
Thanks everyone for your help and interest.

Thanks elemtom,
I thought it became compulsory to register births, deaths and marriages in 1836.

Thanks Neale for looking. I wonder if it was common for deaths to go unregistered?

Cambridgeshire / Horner DELLER - 1845
« on: Tuesday 02 May 23 00:35 BST (UK)  »
Hi,
I hoping someone may be able to help me locate the civil death record for Horner DELLER who was buried in Kingston, Cambridgeshire on 28th July 1845.
I have him in the 1841 census and have been able to locate his burial record on both FamilySearch (where he is recorded 3 times under slightly different first names) - as 'Henry', 'Horny' and 'Herny' DELLER.
FindMyPast records his burial under the name 'Henry' DELLER.
What I am unable to find, however, is a civil death record which, given the year, I thought I should be able to locate. I have tried many variations of both first and last name with no success.
I would be very grateful if someone was able to assist or advise me.
Thank you.
