Armed Forces / Royal Marine Pte George Bishop
« on: Saturday 04 May 13 15:39 BST (UK)  »
Hi I'm trying to find out details about Private George Bishop who was in the Royal Marines.
The only details I have are that he was in the Marines in 1899 when he married Kate Curnow (who may be listed as his next-of-kin) He was married in Falmouth, Cornwall and his father was given as Thomas Bishop deceased. He was 29 at the time so was born about 1870.
Kate Curnow married again in 1916 so I'm thinking George may have died by then, unless they were divorced ?? This may not be the case as she wasnt exactly truthful with her personal details on the marriage certificate, so he may have died long after this ??

Hi I am trying to find out details about my GG Grandfather Henry Kelly. In 1894 he was a Lance Corporal in the Rifle Brigade Richmond Barracks Ireland, where his son George A Kelly was born. In 1886 he was in Aldershot and 1887-89 in Woolwich. The only census I have found him on is 1901 and I know he was deceased by 1913.
I would ideally like to get hold of his service record but don't know of any other details.

Thanks
Sandra

OOOOOOOOO I'm so excited now !!!!!! Yes that would be him/them wooohooooo !!!!!!! And just out of interest I have a Thomas Cornwall/Well on the 1841 Census living in Harrow who was also a sadler. Hopefully this Thomas will work out to be the brother of Harriet (fingers crossed that Harriet is a CORNWALL/WELL).
Ok now I need to order Mr Row's death cert too.

Thank you so much  ;D

London & Middlesex Lookup Requests / James ROW

Could someone please do a look-up or advise where I might look myself for a death of James ROW. He was 71 on the 1871 Census living at Greenhill Farm, Harrow, Middlesex. I am trying to confirm that his wife Harriet was a CORNWALL/WELL. On the 1881 Census Henry CORNWALL/WELL was living at Greenhill Farm and Harriet ROW was living with Henry CORNWALL/WELL in Station Rd Harrow. The information would confirm that Harriet & Henry living in Station Rd were sister & brother and that Henry living at Greenhill Farm was Harriet & Henry,s nephew !!! I have a death for Harriet Row in Dec 1883 so I will be sending off for that certificate to see what info that holds.

Well I have some good news about my Ernest WALKDEN. He IS buried at St Josephs in Morton YAY !!!! I phoned them this morning and they gave me the details. He is in a public grave with a headstone (another yay) so my aunt & I are going to have a look. Now I just need to find which section his wife and her family are buried. Mary Elizabeth Walkden is not buried with him but to find her details I need a date of death. The only thing I have is from free BMD is that she died in the Jan/Feb/Mar of 1928. Any idea on how I can get the actual date ???
