Hi Pels & the Mc,
Many thanks for your help, especially you Pels, you have helped before. The original Fletcher family tree from the Whitby area is well over 300 yrs old and has been kept up to date until this day by the family who moved to Canada. It is very accurate apart from maybe a couple of anomalies here and there. This one we are trying to clear up is finding the correct Hannah Dale and her side of the family.
The 1841 census is correct, they were both 75 at time of census and the Hannah Dale (born 2nd March 1766) from the Whitby area is the only one which seems to fit the bill. I have her death as 14th March 1861, could be wrong though. George Fletcher's birth is written down as 21st March 1765 at Whitby. This could also be wrong.
There is John and Hannah Dales cropping up all around the area, still a little confused here, I just do not want to pick the wrong ones out and say thats a definate without a little more evidence.
Thanks very much so far
Mike
