Found an excellent website on the Royal West Kent Regiment which I am researching but can't find any email address on it that actually works they all seem to return my mail. I am hoping to send them some more photos of my grandad George Cherry Who served with them in Burma.

no but that is what I need to do but can't really afford to at the the minute. I have found a good website which tells what all the ribbons mean and by turning them into greyscale I should be able to guess roughly what they mean.

do they have a list for people emigrating from Canada an also by name trying to find a George Alton Cherry who was in England by 1887.

thanks for your replies. I am still not for deffinate sure wheather he was Canadian or American because I have also seen on Ancestry a George Alton Cherry on the Passenger lists
who came to England in 1887 but I will follow up your leads you have given me.

Thanks V V much don't think he is my George Alton Cherry my one came to England and Died in 1891 aged only 31 - 33 but he had a son named after him my G Grandfather with my G G Grandmother Martha Cherry (Norman) but mine was a GP. Thanks again for taking the time to look them up Regards Lee.

he seems like quite a man even if I'm not related to him. thanks again for your help.
  PS No luck with RMC of Canada from Ross at the RMC museum but she has got his name wrong as cheery. nothing from Queens university not even a response.
