Hi Sue
I've just re-read my original post and realised that I actually meant Alfred not Albert.
I'm a descendent of his step-son Raymond John Lee (he assumed the surname name Ellis at some point). Do you live in the area?
Yes, as far as I have researched Mrs F. Covey would have been Dorothy's mother. Emma Lee married Felix Covey in 1905 in Horsham, Sussex - I haven't got the marriage certificate for this yet.
I always wondered if there were letters, as I believe Alfred died in 1915 during WW1. I believe his son (also Alfred) died in 1945 during WW2.
It's nice to 'meet' you!

Hi Hannah, I also have been looking up any info on Alfred Ellis and Dorothy May Covey. They were my Grandparents on my mothers side>Crystal. They are all buried at Slinfold Church, nr Horsham. The other children were Stan (half brother) Anthony, Joyce and Crystal. I have some letters from WW1
sent from Alf to Dorothy. Some Barns Green and some Five Oaks, Billingshurst. c/o Mrs. F Covey, presumably her mother. Who is the Albert you mention?
Regards
Sue
