We are looking for his parents and have no names.  James was born abt 1804 and immigrated to Balfron, Scotland and married Margaret Fairlie or Fairley 1799-1850 in 1828.  He was a handloom weaver in Scotland. It is the only information that I have at this point  Thank you

As to Jamjar's questions.  I was the source of the headstone photo.  Her husband William died in Ireland and she is buried with her son who died 14 years later and the William that erected the headstone in 1907 was his son (my grandfather) William.  As to Thomas his children got the name wrong at the time of his death.  I knew there were no sisters at the time of William's but just hoping for a hint at the time of the mother's.

Thank you for your help but it would appear we are done here.

She was buried in St. John Cemetery in Ashfield.

I will be away from Rootschat for awhile and if there are other questions I will respond this afternoon.

Thanks again

We do have her death certificate and it lists her children, but just first names, no last names that would say daughters were married or to whom.  Her son William was the informant and she would have been approximately 70-72 (as the records go). My problem is her daughters Mary and Catherine.  I don't know if they married, remained in Ireland, or were alive and in NSW.  I am hoping to see if they are listed in the notice and if their married names are given.  I have the rest of the clan but the two girls are a question.  Daughter Isabelle was one of the first to go to Australia but she returned to Ireland and lived out her life there.  Daughter Jane died just a couple of years before her mother.

Thanks so much for the quick response!

Australia / Funeral notice for Catherine Armstrong 1868
« on: Tuesday 20 September 16 14:32 BST (UK)  »
I have attempted TROVE several times but I think they are missing the days that I need.  Could someone look for the Sydney funeral notices of Catherine Armstrong nee Blakeley in Ashfield NSW Australia on October 15, 1868?  I am trying to confirm which of her children were alive and living in NSW at that point and at this point the funeral notices might be my only hope.

Thank you

Kathy

Thank you for your help.  I hadn't noticed the 1860 Census that had their return to PA

I am hoping to find more information on this man's family, parents, siblings or when he immigrated.  There are four generations of descendants the all have the name William Roland Pollock and this man's middle name might have been Roland as well.  I have that he was born in Milton, Northumberland, PA and married Sarah Ann Johnson in 1835.  Their children were Harriett born 1837, James born 1838, William Rolland born 1840, Samuel born 1842, Peter born 1845, and David born 1848.

The family converted to the Mormon faith and was living in Iowa on the 1850 Census.  Ultimately they immigrated to Utah.  Again any information that could direct me further back in his family or immigration information would be welcomed.  We have been at a stand still for sometime.

Lest others join in....on the baptisms let me clarify.  It would be the person performing the baptism and at least two witnesses.
