For Bekahsgran and Arranroots - many thanks for your help. It looks like a huge stone wall is forming in regard to Thomas Kennedy. Is it possible for anyone to find the birth from this scant information - Thomas Kennedy b Rotherham 1887?

I need a kick-start in finding my maternal grandfather. Have very few details: born 1887, in Rotherham (or possibly Barnsley). His name Thomas Patrick Kennedy (the Patrick may have been added later in life) Believe his parents were both born in Ireland. At some point he married my grandmother Clarissa Burkinshaw and settled in Barnsley. Have tried usual sites such as Freebmd without any luck. Many thanks for any help at all.
