Just seen your old posts on subject; I was born at this address in 1944; do you have info on that address?

Hi Valda
Thanks for the info.
Having glanced at the links you provided, I suspect it would be a waste of time and expense in searching for a POSSIBLE birth in the parish.
I suspect there is every chance she was born in France, and came to london with her parents - or for work.

regards,
Peter

London & Middlesex Lookup Requests / St Mary Abbot, Kensington

Can anyone advise if parish records of births prior to 1800 exist for St Mary Abbot, Kensington.

Julie HALGOULT was married in Pancras in 1823 - "of the Parish of St Mary Abbot, Kensington".
I would guess she was born between 1795 and 1805.
It is possible she was born in Kensington, (although she may have come from France or Switzerland! :-\)
Her husband Joseph Cherrin was born in Switzerland about 1795

Any advice would be appreciated
Peter

thanks for all your help and advice.
I've now found the parish record on Ancestry (no idea why I could never find it before, despite several searches!)

So far I have been unable to trace any further information on Joseph - I have him on 1841 & 1851 census, and his death registration in Pancras Workhouse, but no luck with contacts for infomation on his birth in Switzerland

p.s. Joseph & Julia were my 3xgreat-grandparents

Sinvere thanks, Valda, for such a prompt reply

I would be extremely grateful if any kind soul can find a marriage record for Joseph CHERRIN and Julie HALGOULT.
Pallots index shows they were married at PANCRAS, and I have a date of 30th January 1823.

I am hoping that the original record may provide a little more information, especially confirmation of the spelling of his name as "Cherrin"

Thanks for advice from everyone. Unfortunately the only records I can find are the marriage of Jospeh Cherrin & Julie Halgoult in 1823 from Pallots Index (minimal information), Joseph and daughter Julia on 1841 census, Joseph in Pancras workhouse in 1851 census (giving his place of birth as Switzerland), his death in the workhouse in 1852, and therafter I have records of his daughter Julia Josephine (my g-g-grandmother).
It seems that is as far as I'm going to get with his line  :(
