Gloucestershire Lookup Requests / Re: Parker/Green/ Insall

Now that is a feeling I'm getting familiar with. :)

Must admit I've tended to purchase very few death certs except for the closest ancestors.  Don't know why I didn't get Matilda's birth cert though, I had her marriage cert.  I searched for her for ages - there were interesting rumours ...

Me too,

Thank you

On Violet's birth Cert there is indeed no father named (I'm sure that Violet, my Great Gran, would have been shocked if she knew).  I must get the birth cert. for Matilda and the death certs for both her and James Booth to see what information I can get from them.

Have just gone back to my records after a bit of a break, obviously need to get to grips with it all again. :)

P.S. Will investigate Violet Louise in Barton Rd, right area so there may be a   connection.

Sorry! seem to have got in a bit of a muddle with this one.  Correct details are:

Violet Green b.1892 m. 1913 Died in Gloucester in 1970s but unable to find
Matilda Green b. 1863 m.1903 Date of death unknown.

Thanks for your help.

Thanks for that will have a look to see what I can find.  You are right, one of my dates was wrong - Ellen Matilda was born 1835.  Ellen matilda died quite young, it is possible that Thomas took a second wife although this hasn't showed up in a census.  Can't rule anything out at this stage.

My great grandmother, Violet Green, was born in Tewkesbury in 1892.  She married my Great grandfather Alfred Parker, also from Tewkesbury, in 1913.
Violet was the daughter of Matilda Green. born 1863 in Tewkesbury, who married James Booth in 1903.  Matilda also had two sons, Bertie and Henry, both born prior to Matilda's Marriage.
Matilda was the daughter of Thomas Hughes Green, born 1831 and Ellen Matilda Insall born 1855.  Ellen Insall was the daughter of Henry Inall and his first wife Augusta.

All these family members are from Gloucestershire, mostly Tewkesbury.  I would like to find out more about this part of my family.

ALFRED ALCOX was born in Herefordshire England in 1882 and was a favorite Uncle of my late Grandad.  He married Charlotte Annie Trigg in 1907.  They Emigrated to Canada in 1910 arriving in Quebec. In the 1911 Canada census Alfred was living in Vancouver City and was in the police force (RCMP?) He died in 1962 aged 78.
I have been unabale to establish whether or not he had any children.  There is talk of someone called Lorretta who was always believed to be his wife, but there is no record of his having divorced Annie - perhaps she could have been a daughter, I don't know.
Is there anyone who could give me more information or tell me where to look.
