Other Countries / john Lawson or John Hamilton lawson
« on: Monday 25 May 20 17:06 BST (UK)  »
Hi

i Have currently restarted my research on the lawson family in Jamaica and finding it partically difficult as expected, l would be most gratefully for any help or guidance in my search.

My search if for information on a John Lawson Born around 1800 unsure if he was born in Jamaica or whether he went there at a later date.

records show that he had 2 spouse over a period of time Antionette maiden name unknown and my direct link Amelia Giles. John Lawson and Amelia giles seem to have 3 Daughters Ann Hall Lawson born 1839, Clara Matilda Lawson born 1856 ( My Direct link) and Martha Flueme Lawson born 1854 all in Jamaica. I found that on a baptism record for Ann Hall Lawson in 1843 it states parents John and Amelias abode is recorded as montego bay and Johns occupation was a carpenter.

Any help locating information of them would be very mush appreciated

Thank you
Nadine

Hi
I have posted before concerning this family but have found some additional information which l would be grateful for any help with please , on my previous post l was looking for any information on a john Lawson born around 1829 at a guess that he may have been around the same age as his wife Antoinette from her death record on family search , which also stated she was the widow of john Lawson giving his death before 1899 the time of Antoinette's death and also that john was a dispenser of medicine but unable to confirm his death as can't not find a death record for him at the moment, Johns Daughter Clara Lawson who l also struggled to find her birth record as at first l presumed that Clara's mother was Antoinette but after a lengthy search l found a birth for a Clara Matilda Lawson born 1851 jamaica parents john Lawson and wife Amelia . there was also a record for another daughter Martha Flueme Lawson born 1850 jamaica on family search both of these records state fathers occupation 'Druggist' , There is also a record for a daughter Ann Hall Lawson born 1843 Jamaica unfortunately there is no image l can view for this daughter but does give Amelia's surname as Giles , other then this l can not find any other information on John Lawson or his wife Amelia Giles to help me move any further ,Any help with this however small would be very much appreciated .

Thank you
Nadine

Europe / william evans france british subject

Hi

l am researching my family name of Evans in wales and came across my distant grandfather William Evans Born around 1813 and wife Sarah and Children, l have them in the 1851 living in welshpool wales ,1861 living Newtown wales ,and 1881 Census living Newtown Wales but can not find William Evans and his wife sarah in any other or at all which l thought wouldn't be difficult as the Three census I have it states that William Evans was Born in France and was a British Subject.

Williams Birth place has also become a problem as there is a slight clue on where in France he was born on the 1861 Census the area is there but think it has been transcribed incorrectly and is Transcribed as (Telcancenos France) but l can not find such place connected to France.

Any help with finding the missing Census for William would be most appreciated or indeed any information on him also any suggestions of sites connected to France that l may find helpful will be Very Welcome.

Thank you
Nadine
