I am looking for any information regarding my gggm Maria Shanahan from Kilkenny who married Michael Mealia from Roscommon  in St Patricks Cathedral Fremantle Western Australia 1862 and died in Guildford Western Australia in 1886 aged 45 after having 3 children .  Any assistance would be appreciated.

Thank you John for the information and effort.  When we were in Athlone Oct 2008 St Marys Parish located a Mary chr 1 june 1820 and Thomas Melia 12 Oct 1823 parents Thomas and Mary Rice.  However we were unable to find any record of Michael.  Apparently Melia could be a derivation of O'Malley or O'Maele. Hard to be sure about these things as to relationships between the Melia families in the area. 
I can recall looking at parish records some years in the local LDS family history centre but record was very difficult to read.
I will have another look at the films mentioned as I probably didn't view the Tithe Applotment record.

I am looking for information regarding the family of FRANCIS ANDERSON my gggf who joined the British Army as a shoemaker 18th Foot in March 1840 at aged 20 years at Castlebar having been born in the Parish of Turlough.  He served for 21 years in Bombay, China, Bengal and Burma before pensioned off to Preston in July 1861.  He came to Western Australia aboard the "Merchantman" in 1863 as an enrolled penioner guard with his wife Elizabeth and two children Robert Francis and Elizabeth.

I am looking for any information regarding the family of Michael Mealia my gggf who joined the 99th Foot in Athlone as a labourer in August 1839 at age 18years.  He was born in the St Peters parish in Athlone,  Roscommon.  He was pensioned off in Dublin in October 1860 after serving 21 years in Australia.  He returned to Western Australia on the York arriving New Years Eve 1862 as an Enrolled Pensioner Guard.
