The large "villas" are pre 1911, probably 1890's.

If you cross reference this map with the 1911 summary book, no23 is 6 houses back from Young Street, where the bandstand is in the old photo, (one to the right of the one with the green gate, in front of red car on Streetview).

Or in the summary book , starting from the Seaside Street end (after the Pier Hotel and 5 houses) there are 28 houses to Young Street, then it looks like the 3 at the other side have been added on before going back to Young Street. (no No30).

In the 1890 map the street has no buildings on it.

Thanks Tom, I have PDF transcripts of Kilham baptisms, marriages & burials in the 19th C, also Langtoft, Rudstone and Nafferton.
Bulmer's are a fairly recent addition (1919) .

I got the certificate years ago thinking it was her too, that was money well spent  :P

Thank you for your reply.  There is a death registered in 1844.  Do you believe that one is her or have you happened across her elsewhere?

I never got around to getting the 1844 one. His grandson Johnson married the year after his first wife passed away, so they didn't hang around long back then. Looks like these are the only two registered in the Driffield district.

There is a death for a Mary Nicholson in 1842, district Driffield, so I think that is probably her.

No it aint her. :(
