Thanks Colin, that at least tells me she died before 1855. I wonder why her son didn't put her date of death on the tombstone unless she died after her husband in 1854.

I'm trying to find the date and place that Catherine Smith died and was buried. Her husband Alexander Smith, who she married about 1796, died on Oct. 5, 1854 and is buried in Dunlichity Cemetery I believe in grave #50.
Her name is on the tombstone but no dates with it. I can't find her in any census 1841 and onward.
Her last child Hugh was born in 1815.
I believe her parents were William and Isabel Rose.
Her husband Alexander was a Blacksmith at Achlaschoille which was in the, parish of Daviot/Dunlichity, according to his tombstone which was erected by their son Andrew who went to Canada in 1832.

Roy Graham on the 1911 census is listed as a nephew of Thomas and Susan not their son.

Thomas Kitchen born on January 30, 1840 and died in 1926. He was the son of Thomas 1799-1868 and Ann Drake 1806-1872. He married Susan Orissa Graham on June 14, 1881 but apparently had no children. His siblings in the 1851 census were Moses 1829-1873, Lysander 1832-1908, Mary1835-1920, Erastus 1833-1901, John D.1838-1839, Nancy 1843-1864, Drusillia Ann 1845-1920, Andrew 1853-1935
He and Susan are buried in Greenwood Cemetery in Waterford Ontario his Find A Grave Memorial is 177636618

You have this information already and I'm sorry for repeating it.

Thanks. I think it's  likely the 1870's also. I tried to send the whole picture but it was too large and was rejected. I'll see if I can fit more of the back in the picture.

Could the date of this picture be possibly determined by their clothes.  I believe it is either of Andrew and Catherine Smith taken in Peel County Ontario Canada probably in the 1870's or his son Alexander and his wife Euphemia at the same place but in the 1890's

The more I learn the less I know.
I believe  John Argue's father was James 1759-1837 and James siblings were George 1755-1809 and Thomas 1750-1840.
I also believe James and his wife had sons John and James 1803-1875 and a daughter Jane 1807-?
John is the only one that I can trace to Canada and when and where he first came I don't know but lived most of his life in Solina Ontatio with his wife Mary Stevens who was one of George Stevens 27 children.(thats been fun researching all of them)
I believe that James is tied to the Stittsvile Argue's through Thomas and Mary Smothersgill.
Do you know if George Argue husband of Anne Patterson and George Argue husband of Mary Wilson are related other than through the marriage of their children Anne and Thomas?

I was in the Stittsville Cemetery a few years ago and took pictures of all the Argue stones that I could see not knowing then if there was a connection to me.

Hi Kimberley
Thanks for contacting me.

I am trying to link my 2nd great grandfather John Argue of Solina Ontario to your George of Stittsville.
I think that John's father was James 1759-1837 and that he was a brother of Thomas 1750-1840 and that Thomas is George's father. That would make John and George first cousins and their grandparents
Thomas Argue 1725-1762 and Mary Smothergill 1730-1767.
I have no documentation for this connection and am just going by other family trees. So I'm hoping someone can confirm this connection for me.
Thanks for any help
Rodger
