Herefordshire Lookup Requests / Taylor Brickwall 1841/61 lookup request
« on: Tuesday 05 April 05 10:43 BST (UK)  »
Looking for Martha or Bertha Taylor Born Herefordshire 1834/35 I think in the Monkland Stretford area in 1841 Census she would be aged 5 years old in 1841.  I found her in the 1851 for London aged 15,, but cant check the 1841 piece for London as it is missing.

Also looking for James and Mary Ward Taylor in Stretford in the 1861 Census.  I found Mary on the 1871 but looks as though James was dead by then. they would have one child in the 1861.

I know these are tenuous Links but at the momet  but it is all I have.

Thank for looking

Regards

Jenny

I don't think that is the right Louise.  She would have only been 13 or 14 years old at most in 1894.  DId they marry that young in those days?  Thanks for looking anyway.

Its a possibility as my own GGGrandmother married at the age of 14 in a church her in Bristol  (makes you wonder sometimes)

Hi,

Suggest you look for your great grandparents wills, She may have been left something in one of them , and it will either show that she did remarry or she may have just changed her name.  Just suggestions!

Good luck

Hi,  Still looking for George Henry Nightingale with his wife Louisa and daughters Louisa and Julia and Mary Anne. I have George at the following addresses:-

Nightingale George Henry. Tailor, 46 Lucas Street, Commercial Road  1839
Nightingale George Henry. Tailor, 13 Charles St. Coml Rd, ca 1851
Nightingale George Henry. Tailor, 13 Charles St. Coml Rd, ca 1856

George and Louisa were married at St Annes Limehouse in 1835   Louisa  and Mary anne the daughters were baptised in  in St George in the East in Stepney in 1838 and 1840.

I think Louisa  The mother would be around 36 in 1841 and louisa the daughter  5 Mary anne 1. I dont have any idea of George Henry's age.

Thanks for your time

Hi Aragina,
Im chasing a family legend, aerialist in a circus when young, had an accident which partly crippled her,
So,is there a site I can hit on to do a bit of hunting?
                        In Hope,Goggy.

Yup there are a few but I do suggest that you take out a subscription to Worlds Fair its the magazine for circus and fairground folk.

http://www.worldsfair.co.uk/wf.htm

Try these as well:-

http://www.atfotf97.com/
A site called all the fun of the fair has a family history forum you can ask questions on.

http://www.thegalloper.com/Family/fairgroundfamilies.htm

A site called all the fun of the fair, for fairground and circus families, if you go through the site there are a lot of links for other sites.

Have you a name I might be  able to help?

Regards
