Hi Judith
I have found the place where your grandfather Henry Howard Clarke is buried. He was buried at All Saints Ecclesall, Sheffield on the 23 Jan 1948. I haven't located the exact grave yet since with more than 10,000 burials over 9 acres of ground, it will take some time. I will speak with the church warden when I am next in Sheffield.
Did you receive my email address so that we can exchange photos etc.?
I also found some of Howard's WW1 service records if you are interested.
Regards
Darryl

Hi Judith
You are correct in much of your research.
The link between the Froggatts and Nugent began with the Masons. Mary Mason married Thomas Froggatt and her sister Jane Mason married my grandfather James Nugent. As you say the Masons were publicans running The Falstaffe Inn and The Locomotive pubs. They also worked in the cutlery industry.
Kay's aunt Kitty and uncle Tom were also my aunt and uncle. Kitty moved from Rotherham to Deal with her husband Charles Milner. Tom remained in Sheffield and lived near my home. Both visited Kay on many occasions. I don't recollect any Hudsons but Charles Milner's family had a musical instrument shop in Sheffield so there may be a link there.
I have tried to locate Howard Clarkes's grave in Sheffield but without success so far.
Thomas Froggatt's grandfather was an optician as were many members of the family. Thomas snr's brother Samuel invented new ways of grinding optical glass and moved to London to make his fortune.
I have PM'd you my email address so that we can exchange photos etc.

Regards
Darryl

Can Judith read my PM where I can provide an email address or should I continue the thread on here?

I have a number of relatives who migrated from the English mainland to Guernsey and who died there. I am trying to locate where they are buried on the Island.
Jessie Clarke 1889-1960
Sylvia Booth 1923-1977 (d.14 Jan 1977)
John Swire Booth 1908-1972 (d.Jul 1972)
Any help or advice in locating where they are buried would be most appreciated.
Thanks

Thanks for the tip Frances
Morton Hall responded to my enquiry within 24 hours and provided me with everything I needed - absolutley brilliant.
Although there is no headstone on the grave, they gave me details of the adjoining headstones together with a plan. Again brilliant.

Brilliant !
Thanks to each of you who replied.
I've tracked down the chap and his DC offers some interesting facts about the family. Just need to locate the grave although his wife is buried in Salford so he might have been transported there to be buried with her.

My gg cousin John William Mason, born in Sheffield, Yorkshire in 1854 was widowwed and living at 53, St Patrick Square. Edinburgh in 1901. Does anyone have access to death and burial records for Scotland - in particular for Edinburgh? I need to find when he died and if possible, where he is buried.
