Thanks very much for all of your replies, they've really helped alot! I will have to get searching for the Granddaughter Elizabeth. She is listed as Daughter in the 1841 census yet when i looked up her birth in 1836 on LDS there was no Elizabeth born to Joseph & Elizabeth. Why can't things go like clockwork eh!

..if there is a website for England & Wales like there is ScotlandsPeople for Scotland? I find ScotlandsPeople so much more helpful than the sites and records available that there are for England & Wales. My Tree has practically doubled since finding ScotlandsPeople on my dad's side and because of that my English & Welsh roots on my mother's side have been lagging far far behind.

Herefordshire / Thomas' & Cooke's - Lower Bullingham
« on: Thursday 09 December 10 20:07 GMT (UK)  »
Hello,

I'm hoping someone may be able to help me find the whereabouts of the children of my Great Great Great Grandparents Joseph Thomas 22.8.1778 - 22.12.1844 & Elizabeth Cooke 7.3.1790 - 9.11.1862.

I know the information of their son John Thomas 7.3.1830 - 2.6.1869. It's the other children i am having trouble with. I have some information but not all.

They are -

Joseph 12.1.1809, Lower Bullingham - ?
Elizabeth 31.5.1812, Hereford - ?
Michael John 16.4.1815, Saint Martin - ?
Eleanor 9.3.1817, Upper Bullingham - ?
Mary Anne 6.2.1820, Saint Martin - ?
Amelia 23.11.1821, All Saints - ?
Jemima 1823 - ?
Diana 29.7.1827, Saint Martin - 9.1889, Hereford

There is also a Granddaughter of John Thomas & Elizabeth Cooke - Elizabeth Thomas Born about 1836 in Lower Bullingham. Yet i can't find the parents of Elizabeth nor her where she went after 1851 and she is living in Lower Bullingham.

Any help would be very much appreciated!

Montgomeryshire / Children of Evan Francis & Anne Richards - Cemmaes.
« on: Monday 06 December 10 16:08 GMT (UK)  »
I'm having trouble find what happened to the children of my 3x Great Grandparents Evan & Anne Francis.

Evan Francis Son of David Francis was born around 1811 in Llangadfan, Montgomeryshire & Married Anne Richards Dau. of John Richards & Anne Jones on 6 April 1850 in Cemmes, Montgomeryshire. At the moment i have found 7 of their children - their eldest child, Elizabeth being my 2x Great Grandmother. The other children are David 1853 , Jane 1855 , Anne 1857 , Evan 1860, Mary 1863 & John 1869. All of the children were born in Cemmaes. In the past i have gotten confused as there are also another Evans & Anne Francis in the census' and i have gotten them and their children mixed up with mine, although i think that the ones above are the correct children. Apart from Elizabet Francis who Married David Evans - i have been unable to find any other Spouses and children for Elizabeth's siblings. It could be possible that some of the girls moved to Englans, possibly Lancashire.

Evan Francis died in 1897 in Cemmaes & Anne Richards died on 23 February 1913 in Cwmlline Hamlet, Cemmaes but i cannot find Anne anywhere in the 1911 Census of Wales under the different variations of Anne & Francis.

Also i would love some help finding the mother of Evan Francis, wife to David Francis. & any other children David & his wife may have had.
I have only been able to find a brother to Anne Richards, John Richards born in 1816 in Montgomeryshire and who appears in the 1841 census but not in the 1851 census.

Any help would be very much appreciated

Argyllshire / Rose Spratt
« on: Saturday 04 December 10 16:03 GMT (UK)  »
Im looking for any information on my Great Great Great Aunt Rose Spratt. She was born around 1844 in Campbeltown to Thomas Spratt & Isabella Gillies. She appears in the 1851 and the 1861 census' living with her parents in Campbeltown, although her name is given as Rosey Sprot. After the 1861 census however she seems to disappear - No Marriage, no Death & no emmigration records that i can see anywhere. Maybe i am looking in the wrong places... Anything anyone can help me with i would be very grateful!

Hi Monica thanks for finding that information for me, and also finding some more children to add to my Tree. When i was reading that i couldn't believe my eyes. I have had the information i've been looking for the entire time. My Great Grandparents John McKenzie & Mary Cook travelled to Halifax, Nova Scotia and arrived on the SS Athenia on 3 April 1927. I even have a photo of the boat! Could you tell me what page they are on the Passenger lists as my Great Grandparents are on page 16.
