Hi
Many thanks for the link to Frederick Barnes .....went on....so much information....it was really interesting.....I just wish it was my  Frederick

.....unfortunately it was for Frederick William barnes....still interesting reading....did however go on the web site to see if they had Frederick barnes (1894). But they haven't digitised  his record yet , look forward to it being released soon.

Thanks for your help

hi dave

I think many of 'his' generation used to keep their feelings to themselves ...and spoke very little of their childhood or war time experiences......and its only now we realise what a wealth of information they had and that we should have asked  so many questions

family....four boys frederick1909- 1989(?), harry, christopher....1911-1957, arthur...1918-2005, and rebecca...aunt cis...1916-1990  (2 children died gertrude maud ..1905-05, joseph arthur 1907-07...who do you think the other brother was?

unfortunately none of these people ar now alive...they all stayed in the west midlands area.. ish..apart from Harry

christopher had two boys, arthur two girls and aunt cis had 5 girls some of whom have moved though not sure where to!  I remember when I was liittle my dad would take me to see aunt cis....unfortuantely i dont have many old photos.....but should be able to sort some out...taking photos wasnt that common then......im afraid ive always got a camara with me and could document my childrens lives through their pictures!

My father Arthur did join the raf

I havent been able to find a bmd for clifford have you?

are you still up north?   Im west mids

cheers Emm

Hi Dave

too many coincidences...we must be related...wow..welcome to the family!

Let me know how you get on with the raf records was thinking of getting my dads to...he was working on the hurricanes and spitfires all over the place in ww2....he was an engineer and continued in civilian life as an engineer working on all passenger aircraft including concorde

Coming back to uncle fred  i remember the names May and lil  from somewhere... in the 60's he was living by the river in a mobile home in wooten woen....maybe he was with aunt lil or lily then....was it clifford who went to rhodeshia....im sure someone did.....

Frederick was on the 1911 census with his parents who had been married  6 years and had had 3 children 2 were deceased by 1911

rebecca married an arthur chinn in 1940 and i believe he passed away in 1947...so i doubt if the reference to dad passing away was his step dad ......could it be mays father?

its interesting finding  another branch

Cheers
Emm

Hi Dave

I dont have any personal info re joseph and Rebecca only what I have researched myself,my parents didnt say much about them either.....joseph died in 1934  so that would make Harry 20....Rebecca died in 55

You mention a Harold...no idea  any  bmd records....I have heard mention of a Clifford....son of Fred  ...but not sure who Fred married......any ideas....

Dont know much about Harry.....had heard he may have moved   up  to Blackpool.....so looking at the dates youve given me ive just looked up bmds and  see there is a bmd ref for 1995  poulton le fylde and black pool...is this the right one!

You say he was in the RAF...so was my father....which squadron?

How far have you got with the Barnesss

Cheers
Emm
