Lancashire Lookup Requests / Hindle 1851 Bury area please
« on: Thursday 21 December 06 15:12 GMT (UK)  »
Hi,
I am looking for an Alice and Elizabeth Hindle in Lancashire in the 1851 census. Alice was born in 1844/45 and Elizabeth in 1842/3. I have two hand stitchings by these girls from the years 1852 and 1850 and would like to know a little more about their lives as they grew up. They did the stitchings at Stand School, which no longer exists, but Stand is in the area of Whitefield on the outskirts of Bury, between Bury and Prestwich. I presume the girls are sisters although this is not necessarily the case. It is possible they were still together in 1861 if they can be found.
Any information would be gratefully received,
Thank you and Merry Christmas
Wayne :)

Gloucestershire Lookup Requests / Lane, 1841/51 lookup Bristol please
« on: Tuesday 19 December 06 17:35 GMT (UK)  »
Hi,
I'm looking for the parents of Mary Ann Philips (formerly Lane) christened 1813. Her parents were a Benjamin and Mary Ann Lane who married in Clifton, Bristol in 1810. I am hopeful that someone might be able to find them on the 1841 or 1851 census if they are still alive. By 1841 Mary (daughter) was married so I expect they will be on their own. I realise the commonality of the name Mary Lane, but am hoping that Benjamin will still be alive and make it easier. A bit of a shot in the dark I know >:(, but any help is much appreciated, :D
Thanks a lot
Wayne
Merry Christmas all!

Warwickshire Lookup Requests / 1841/51 Phillips Birmingham
« on: Monday 20 November 06 15:12 GMT (UK)  »
Hi,
I'm looking for a Mary Ann Jane Phillips, who I believe was born in 1837. According to her marriage certificate her father was a Philip Phillips, a Pattern leaf maker (the writing was extremely difficult to read so this may not be wholely accurate). Mary married in 1857, so I am hopeful that she can be found on either or both the 1841 and/or the 1851. All evidence points to her being born and bred in Birmingham as this is where she married and lived. On later censi she gave her birth town as Birmingham.
Thanks for any help
Wayne :)

Warwickshire Lookup Requests / Andrews 1891 1901 Birmingham please
« on: Sunday 05 November 06 18:37 GMT (UK)  »
Hi
I'm looking for a William and Mary Andrews in 1891 and 1901. In 1881 they were at 9 Ct 2 House, Birmingham.
William was a nail castor aged 49 and MAry was 41. Both were born in Birmingham. They had a daughter Mary age 7 and son Henry age 4 who were likely to still be with them in 1891 if that helps.
Much appreciated
Wayne

Warwickshire Lookup Requests / Phillips Birmingham 1891 please
« on: Sunday 05 November 06 18:09 GMT (UK)  »
Hi,
Could someone please look up a Mary Phillips in 1891 please.
In 1881:
she was aged 69, so she will be about 79 in 1891. Mary was born in Bristol and was staying with William Andrews, born 1832ish, Birmingham, Nail castor and wife Mary Andrews, born 1840ish, Birmingham in 1881. William and Mary Andrews have a daughter Rosina born 1862, amongst other children. There is also in the house a child called Sarah Phillips age 4 born Brum. Both Mary Phillips and Sarah are down as lodgers although I suspect she was Mary Andrews' mother.

Mary Phillips died in 1894 so she should be somewhere in 1891.

If possible, could someone also try to track Mary Phillips back to the 1871 and 1861 censi please. I'd be very grateful.
Thanks very much
Wayne

Warwickshire Lookup Requests / Marriage lookup Birmingham Mason
« on: Tuesday 10 October 06 16:24 BST (UK)  »
Hi,
I'm looking for the marriage certificate of the paerents of Mary Ellen Mason. She was born in Birmingham in January 1900 to a William Henry Maon and Mary Mason (formerly Andrews). According to the 1901 census they were also both born in Birmingham, so they were probably married there too.

Can someone please find a reference for a marriage in Birmingham between William Henry Mason and Mary Andrews. The date is probably around 1890-1895.

Thank you very much
Wayne :)

Shropshire Lookup Requests / VAUGHAN Shropshire 1871
« on: Friday 08 September 06 15:39 BST (UK)  »
Hi,
Could someone please look up a Thomas Vaughan, born around 1832, and a charter master in Dawley, Salop in 1870 on the 1871 census.
I'd love to know where he lived, with whom and what their occupations were.
Sadly he died before the 1881 census. If possible he could be traced further back too as I suspect he lived in Salop all his life,
Thanks
Wayne.
