The entry refers only to his military service in World War II with the 48th Highlanders but refers to a memorial service at the 48th Highlanders club in Toronto.  There is no mention of any details of Dorothy other than to say he was predeceased by her but refers presumably to his second wife Helen.
There are lots of children in the death posting in the Totonto Star of July 1997 but not which might be attributed to Dorothy?

am seeking information on Dorothy (nee Hicks), Mrs S Ainsworth in Toronto Canada.  The first posting I found was at the death of her father, Frank Hicks, in 1944 which says she was in the RCAF.  The next one was at the death of her mother, Rose Ann Hicks in December 1973.  I have the notice of death of Harry Stuart (Stu) Ainsworth in July 1997 which refers to 'Predeceased by wife Dorothy' which I hope may be the right one.  Any information on the birth (after 1921), her marriage and death especially any notice which may list her children would be gratefully received.  I do have a lot of information on Frank and Rose Hicks but nothing on Dorothy.

I am seeking information on June (nee Hicks), Mrs M McGrath in Toronto Canada.  The first posting I found was at the death of her father, Frank Hicks, in 1944 which says she was at home.  The next one was at the death of her mother, Rose Ann Hicks in December 1973 which refers to her as 'the late Mrs M McGrath'.  Any information on the birth (after 1921), her marriage and death especially any notice which may list her children would be gratefully received.  I do have a lot of information on Frank and Rose Hicks but nothing on June.

I have trawled the Toronto Star but cannot find the deaths or indeed any information about Frank Hicks's children.  I know Ruith, Mrs M McGrath was dead by December 1973 as it refers to her as the 'late Mrs M McGrath in the death notice of Rose Ann Hicks.  I Know Dorothy, Mrs Stu Ainsworth predeceased her husband who died in July 1997 again from the death notice of Mr Ainsworth,  and Francis James (or James Francis) Hicks I can find nothing.  I am now frustrated and desperate.  Any final help or advice as to where I should go next or indeed any information about them at all.

Debbie, This is the entry:

E. (of Broadview).  Service on Friday at 1030 a.m. Internment Pace Hills Cemetery.
I am on with it - I just hoped there may be a short cut.

Thanks to all who have helped me so far.  I have found the death of Rose Ann Hicks in December 1973 but in spite of trawling through the Toronto Star pay site I have been unable to find the births of their three children Dorothy, June, James Francis.  England is much easier as I can get the birth certificates.  Can anyone help with suggestions as to how I may now proceed.  Many thanks

All I know is that the birth of their son Francis was in Bridgewater, Sonerset in 1827.  I can't find Samuel on the 1851 census and the 1841 does not specify which county he was born in.  Eleanor, according to the 1841 census must have been born about 1791 as she is older that Samuel.

Many thanks.  I have the certificate of death registry for 'baby hicks' which was stilborn and thus was probably never reported.  The parents were given as Frank Hicks and Annie Turner (her maiden name was Rose Ann Turner) both born in England.  I know she visited England in 1934 and 1960 without FRank but that is all I know so far.  I am about to try to find any other children born to them through the pay site of the Toronto Star but any help would be appreciated.  If I can then find any living relatives in Canada I will send them their family tree in England.
