Sussex / John Higham, Lewes Baptism Records
« on: Tuesday 16 January 07 22:59 GMT (UK)  »
Hi  ;D
A fellow researcher and I are trying to find the parents of
John Higham b. Lewes abt. 1811  along with (we assume)
his brothers, all living in various locations in North Kent
throughout  the census years , they are all Shipwrights / Barge Builders

William b. Lewes  1816
Samuel  b. Lewes  1819
Thomas b. Lewes  1826
Sisters,  Elizabeth b. Lewes 1809  & Hannah 1830
in turn we are trying to connect them to Robert  b. Whitby  1806
parents William & Hannah  (IGI only)

We have a Hannah Higham(a widow not b.in county) in Lewes in 41  with
Samuel, Thomas & Hannah.
There seems to be too many coincidences for these people not to be closely related

Just need the baptism records to complete the puzzle, If anyone has access to the
baptism records for Lewes the information would be much appreciated.
Hope this all makes sense.

Census and Resource Discussion / marriage cert.
« on: Friday 29 September 06 14:49 BST (UK)  »
Hi  ;D
Long time since I last put a post up, just need someone else’s thoughts on this,

I have Louisa Bone  b. Rochester 1879 with family in 81, 91 and with husband in 1901.

Have copy of parish reg. of marriage, all correct ages, middle names, witness’s
are her brother and sister,( I thought)  until you get to father and then it states Harry Bone bricklayer (deceased)
instead of Joseph Bone painter (deceased). I can’t find any other “Bones” that might fit the bill.

Any thoughts  ???

Would anyone have any knowledge of the Royal Navy's INVINCIBLE, which was parked up (thats an old navel term) in Hull Roads during the 1871 census, have done a google but can't find anything.

Mike
