Montgomeryshire Lookup Requests / 1851 census - Worthen area
« on: Wednesday 25 May 05 03:28 BST (UK)  »
Hi :)

I had put this request in the Shropshire look ups, but have since been told that Worthen was in Montgomeryshire in '51'. So here goes:

I am looking for Richard Williams b: approx. 1811 in Lydbury Shropshire and Martha Williams b:1847 in Worthen.

In 1871 Richard was living  in Worthen, Montgomeryshire, at 142 Meadowtown Hill, next door to his daughter Eliza Gardner who was born in 1838.

I haven’t yet found him in 1861. He could be living with a wife Elizabeth b: 1811 and children could include Eliza and Martha.

In 1861 Martha was living at Bog, Wentnor, Shropshire with Eliza.

I’d be interested in anything at all, even if it doesn’t match exactly.

Thank you very much.

Wendy

Technical Help / Easy recording of census look ups???
« on: Monday 23 May 05 01:52 BST (UK)  »
Hi

This may sound like a niave question ::) If I look up a request for someone and I wish to let them know about the members of a household is there a way to copy and paste this information so that it comes out looking ordered etc. or is the only way to type it all out?

I have tried to copy and paste before but it comes at with each person in a vertical list form rather than horizontally, with each persons info. across the page and listed under the last person. So, am I missing something or just indulging in wishful thinking that there might be an easier way than all that typing.
 ;)

Cheers
Wendy

Hi

I am looking for the following in Worthen in either or both the 51 and 61 census.

Richard Williams b: 1811, Lydbury, Shropshire
Elizabeth Williams b: 1811, Worthen, Shropshire

In 1871 they were living at 142 Meadowtown Hill, Worthen.

There maybe a Martha Williams or an Eliza Davies living with them in 51, otherwise I am unaware of anyone else.

Any help would be appreciated
Wendy :)

Hi

I am looking for a Gardner/Gardener family living in Worthen. In particular Eliza Gardner b: 1838 in Worthen and her son Richard Gardner b:1856 in Worthen.

I am particularly interested in the father's name as Eliza was widowed by 1871.

In 1871 she was living at 143 Meadowtown Hill in Worthen,

There could be other children Samuel b:1857 in Worthen and Elizabeth b: 1861 in Worthen.

Any help very much appreciated :)

Hi

I am looking for the family of Charles Price b: 1823 (Hawarden, Flint)

In 1871 they were living at:
7 Hunters? Walk,
St Oswald,
Reg. Dist: Chester
Sub District: Chester Cathederal

They always lived in this area. Charles married Rebecca b:1824(Chester) in 1842 at St Mary's, Chester and they christened a son there in 1850.

Amongst their children in 1851 could be Charles, George and William, there are probably more.

Thank you very much

« on: Tuesday 22 March 05 07:39 GMT (UK)  »
Hi

I just tried to go into the chat area for the first time, everything came up on the computer alrigh,t but when I tried to talk I couldn't get the letters to come up. I could get a smiley in the talk box but no letters. Was I doing something wrong? I have a MacOS. I would have stayed longer to look round and try more things but I was embarrassed that the other people in there thought I was ignoring their questions. Any advise??

Thanks
Wendy

Lancashire Lookup Requests / 1851 census - Oldham
« on: Thursday 17 March 05 06:49 GMT (UK)  »
Hi
I was hoping someone could look this one up for me? I have been looking for quite a while and this would confirm that I have the right Taylors. :)

I am looking for a Taylor family.
In 1871 they are:

William Taylor  46   B:Oldham,  Head
Maria Taylor  46  b: Burnley, wife
The children are
Sarah  16  b: Chadderton
Samuel  14  b:Moston
Harriet  8  b:Chadderton
Louisa  6  b: Oldham

At this time they were living at Hardman lane, Failsworth, but as you can see by the births they moved around but always in the Oldham district..

There were also at least two other children, Mary Ann b: 1860 in Failsworth and George Thomas B:1848 in Oldham.

Thank you
Wendy
