Lancashire Lookup Requests / 1861 census look up - Oldham
« on: Thursday 17 March 05 06:47 GMT (UK)  »
Hi
I was hoping someone could look this one up for me? I have been looking a while and it would tell me if they are the right Taylors. :)

I am looking for a Taylor family.
In 1871 they are:

William Taylor  46   B:Oldham,  Head
Maria Taylor  46  b: Burnley, wife
The children are
Sarah  16  b: Chadderton
Samuel  14  b:Moston
Harriet  8  b:Chadderton
Louisa  6  b: Oldham

At this time they were living at Hardman lane, Failsworth, but as you can see by the births they moved around but always in the Oldham district..

There were also at least two other children, Mary Ann b: 1860 in Failsworth and George Thomas B:1848 in Oldham.

Thank you
Wendy

Montgomeryshire Lookup Requests / 1851 look up please
« on: Wednesday 16 March 05 07:57 GMT (UK)  »
Hello!:)
I would love it if someone could find any of these people in 1851 and/or 1861?

I’d like to find Eliza Gardner b: 1838 in Worthen, Shropshire

In 71 and 81 census she was living in, 143 Meadowtown Hill, Worthen, in 71 it was listed as Montgomeryshire, in 81 it was called Shropshire.

By then she had been widowed and remarried in 1867 to Benjamin Wardman and widowed again by 81.

In 1861 she should be living with her first husband either Samuel or Richard Gardner,  ( sometimes the Gardner has an ‘e’ Gardener)

There would be at least one child Richard Gardner b:1856 in Worthen (my gggrandfather) and possibly a Samuel or Elizabeth as well. If it is possible to check the neighbours that would be good as I think her parents or some type of relative was living next door in 71.

I’d love to confirm that this is my family, I’ve been looking for ages, but only just realised that parts of Montgomeryshire are listed in Wales! Never thought to look there.

Thanks
Wendy

One Name Studies: A to G / Faricy
« on: Thursday 10 March 05 03:19 GMT (UK)  »
Hi
I am researching the Faricy family. John Faricy immigrated from clashmore, Waterford, Ireland in 1866 to Hindley, Lancashire where he worked as a miner.

I know most of the family history from then on, although there are a couple of people who did a disappearing act along the way. I am interested in hearing from anyone with a connection to the Faricys. If anyone knows anything about the history before 1866, I would be very interested.

Anyone in the north of England or who know they have their origins in the north and have the name Faricy are 99.9% likely to be decendant from my gggrandfather John and I am more than happy to share my research.

Cheers
Wendy

Shropshire Lookup Requests / 1861 look up Bishops Castle, Please
« on: Friday 04 March 05 06:32 GMT (UK)  »
Hello
Hello!
I know this is hard but I would really appreciate a look up. I am looking for a family in the Bishops Castle/Mainstone area of Shropshire. I believe they were there as their daughter was born there in 1859, by the 1871 census they had moved to Cannock, Staffs. They are:
Joseph (Meredith) Evans b: 1829 Montgomeryshire, Wales
Martha Evans B: 1836 Berriew, Montgomeryshire, Wales
Susan Evans B: Mainstone, Shropshire, 1859.

Thank You
Wendy
