Lancashire Lookup Requests / !861 Tameside look up please.
« on: Friday 04 March 05 06:27 GMT (UK)  »
Hello
Can any one help? I am looking for Catherine Ryan born approx: 1847 in either Hyde or Ashton-U-Lyne. .Her parents were Thomas Ryan and Mary Ryan b: approx. 1815. At the time she would have had a brother Christopher b: 1840 in Ashton. There could also be other siblings. I would love any info., I am not 100% on the fathers name but the others are definite. Any thing that looks close will be of interest.

Thanks
Wendy

Hi

If someone could look this up I would be very thinkful. I am trying to confirm that this is my GGGrandmother, Catherine's, family. In 1867(according to marriage record) they were living at 8 clough St, which is in NewtonHeath/ Failsworth area, I suppose it could also be listed as Manchester. The people in the house would be:
Thomas Ryan age approx 55 b: ireland
Mary                  "            50
Christopher        "            20
Catherine           "            12
Ann                    "              8
Thomas              "               4

Of course there could be more children.
Thank you
Wendy

Lancashire Lookup Requests / 1861/1851AshtonULyne, Chorlton - Much Appreciated
« on: Saturday 05 February 05 21:56 GMT (UK)  »
Hi
Any kind person who could look this up for me would be appreciated!

I am looking for my GGGrandmother’s,  Catherine Taylor (nee:Ryan), family. I have traced them back to 1871 but would like to find them in 1861 and/or 1851. The parents are Mary/Mary Ann Ryan B: approx. 1816 in Ashton U Lyne and (not as sure about him) Christopher Ryan b: approx. 1805 in Ireland. In 1871 they were living at 4 Edward St, Chorlton on Medlock. The three children I know of  Christopher Ryan b: 1840, Catherine Taylor:1848 and Ann/Hannah Daniels b: 1854 all born  in Ashton were living separately in Failsworth in 1871. I would assume that 10 or 20 years earlier they were living as a family group and that there may be more siblings.

I would really appreciate any information, it is sometimes difficult to get  it from over here.
Thanks
Wendy
