Kent Lookup Requests / 1851 & 1861 CENSUSES PLEASE - THOMAS SUTTON
« on: Saturday 03 March 07 12:25 GMT (UK)  »
Could someone kindly do 1851 and 1861 census lookups for one THOMAS SUTTON - age unknown, but possibly c 1830-40 - possible address is Folly, Folkestone.  Regret this is all the detail I have for an address from a birth certificate on which he is named as the father of one HENRY PAY (mother EMMA PAY) b1855 Folly, Folkestone (Elham district).

If anyone can assist I would be extremely grateful.

Kent Completed Lookup Requests / census lookups - PAY / BRUNDLE
« on: Thursday 04 January 07 13:52 GMT (UK)  »
Can anyone assist with lookups on the following names

MARY ANN PAY  /  BARNABAS BRUNDLE

I have 1861 transcript for both living in King St, St Peter, Sandwich - him 33, her 23.

She died 7/10/1864 Eastry - have photo of gravestone also.
This checks out on Death entries.  I can find no marriage record for them.

Would appreciate if she could be found on 1851 or previous censuses.  She was shown as born Eastry on 1861 census.
He was born in Shrimpton, Norfolk and believe I have found him in 1841 census aged 14.

I believe Barnabas went on to marry another Mary Ann (Smith) in 1866 in Hartismere, Suffolk.  She was shown in 1861 living in Worth, Kent aged 28, Servant.

Have then found him and her on 1881 and 1891 censuses in Suffolk - have no access to 1871 so would appreciate any assistance here also.

Many thanks - JEAN

Census Lookup and Resource Requests / 1901 Census - ALBERT SHOTTON
« on: Thursday 03 August 06 21:26 BST (UK)  »
I am desperately trying to find a 1901 Census entry for ALBERT HENRY SHOTTON.
He married in 1904 in Alverstoke, Hampshire - occupation shown as a Tea Dealer's Agent, aged 21.  Father's name Samuel George Shotton.
The only Albert Shotton I have been able to find born c1882 was born in Sheriff Hales, Staffs, and have found him in 1891 living with grandparents Elizabeth and William Shotton.  In 1881 they are shown with a son Samuel c1859.  I am only assuming this is the correct Albert.
Although it is not a very common name, I know the name Shotton has been misinterpreted in a lot of census entries and all sorts of different variations have come to light.  I have tried entering in all different connotations but can come up with nothing.
If anyone can assist in any way I would be very grateful.

Staffordshire Lookup Requests / 1861 / 1871 LOOKUPS PSE - WILLIAM SHOTTON
« on: Tuesday 20 June 06 21:11 BST (UK)  »
Hi
Is anyone able to assist with 1861 & 1871 census lookups please.
William SHOTTON b c1819 Sherifhales, Staffs
Elizabeth SHOTTON b c1819 ditto
Samuel SHOTTON b c1860 Gnosall, Stafford
Herbert SHOTTON b c1861 ditto

I have this family in 1881 and 1891 but cannot find them in earlier censuses.

Am particularly trying to trace an Albert SHOTTON b c1882 shown with this family in 1891 as Grandson.

Any help appreciated.

Devon Completed Lookup Requests / 1841 & 1851 Census lookups please - ATWILL
« on: Monday 01 May 06 16:57 BST (UK)  »
Could anyone please oblige with 1841 and 1851 lookups for the following

William ATWILL, b1821 Meavy, Devon
Hannah (ATWILL), b1823 Woodland, Devon
Robert (Leger) ATWILL, b1857 Milton, Devon

The family moved to Durham but I am not sure when - I am hoping they were still in Devon in 1851.

William and Hannah may not have been married in 1841 - but I am hoping to find any siblings of Robert Atwill.

I would be grateful for an 1841 Census lookup please for the following

Elizabeth COLLARD c1816 Stelling or Petham
Emma COLLARD c1838 Canterbury

I have found other entries for Collard under CALLAND and CULLARD - so any interpretation is likely!

Thanks

Jean
