A matter of luck I think in the end - mine all turned out to be from a little village called Ebbesbourne Wake and once I found one I found them all!!

Thanks for that last posting - I have now been supplied with a photo of the actual house - many thanks.

Marian

I have just seen your posting - I am afraid the Florence you refer to did not turn out to be related, I did trace mine in the end living in Gosport, Hampshire.

Kent Lookup Requests / Re: ST MILDRED, CANTERBURY BURIALS

Thank you Betty for one mystery solved - I was in that area last year to find the Andrews grave, looks as if I will have to visit again to try to find this one! (or maybe two!).

If anyone else has details of the graves in that churchyard I would be most grateful.

Kent Lookup Requests / ST MILDRED, CANTERBURY BURIALS
« on: Tuesday 07 June 11 16:58 BST (UK)  »
Does anyone have any burial records for St Mildred's Church, Canterbury?  Am trying to find out whether the following burials were at St Mildred's or in Canterbury Cemetery.

George Horton died 28.01.1855 (aged 28) (buried 04.02.1855 Canterbury)
(Son) George Jamieson Horton died 24.10.1855 (aged 6 months) (buried 28.10.1855 Canterbury)

I wondered whether they may have been buried in same plot.

Several of his wife's family were buried in St Mildred's (Bennett Andrews and Effield Maria Andrews) hence the reason for wondering if they may have been also - the records for St Mildred's seem to go up to 1855 and presume after that year they are in Canterbury Cemetery?

Kent Lookup Requests / Re: Birth lookup - Deal - Catherine Horton

Hi Casalguidi - I did actually check the Miller one out, but found this family in a later Census not living in Kent so was definitely not "my" Catherine.
She is definitely in Sandwich from the age of 3 onwards.
I have wondered whether Workhouse birth records are separate from the normal lists - is this possible?  Don't think there was one in Deal, but Eastry was probably the nearest.

Thank you for the last response - as my previous posting shows, yes I did manage to find out the information from Fareham Borough Council website, who were very helpful and e-mailed me a site map with plot number shown.  I have visited the churchyard since.

Thanks for your response Catleugh.  I too have found the entry for 20 Ford Terrace which does show my husband's grandfather, grandmother and aunt.  His father was born at number 20 in 1912!

Hello Lesanne

Yes my line is related to Sackree (Sacree/Sacre)!

Ann Maria Horton (nee Andrews) married George Sackree (born c1833 Sandwich) in 1866 (Sandwich).  Believe his father was James b 1794 Brabourne (not sure if this is near Petham or Canterbury?) who married Susanna Basden.

Ann Maria is the one with the elusive Catherine birth in between marriages!  I have even wondered if Catherine was actually George Sackree's daughter, but even researching this brings no results.

Let me know if any of the above connects with yours.

Regards

Jean
