Wales / Margaret Edwards Swansea

Is anyone going the Swansea Central Library in the near future and could a look up for me?

In the Cambrian Index is report of a death of a Margaret Edwards she died on 22 Mar 1850 aged 25. The wife of John Edwards.

What I am hoping is if someone is going to the Library they could have a look at the death notice and see if there are any details of her death.

Keeping my fingers crossed

Hi,

Can you let me know what the Cambrian Index is? I haven't heard if it before.

Hi,

She married in 1869 and her age is shown as 20 which made her born 1849 but on her death cert her age is shown as 34. She died in Mar 1881 so that makes her born 1847. I also have her on the 1871 census as 23 which makes her birth abt 1848. I haven't been able to find a birth which matches if she really was born in Swansea. Which the census says she does

Having just written this all down I now think that Margaret J Edwards/Edmonds  in Tontine St, is unlikely to be her since she seems to have been born abt 1850.

Sorry.   I have just realised I didn't answer your question.  She is just Margaret Thomas.

Hi,

On her marriage & death certs she is just Margaret Williams (Nee Edwards) but if the Margaret from Tontine Street is right one she is Margaret Jane Edmonds.

The problem I have is I cannot find a birth that fits for Margaret Edwards in Swansea between 1847 - 1850.

Margaret Jane Edmonds was living in Tontine Street in 1861 but Margaret Edwards marriage didn't happen until 1869. Am I making a too big leap of faith?

Any help would be appreciated.

My G G Greatfather was a Potter around 1869 in Swansea. Does anyone know whether there are any work records available for the Swansea Potteries from around that date?

Can anyone suggest where I might find a death record for Margaret Thomas who lived in Swansea and was alive in 1861 aged 88?

I hoping that someone will be able to help me breakdown a brick wall.  My G. G. Grandmother was Margaret Edwards b 1850/1 Swansea. I have her marriage cert. there is no mention of a father.   On the 1861 census she is Margaret S Edwards (but it does look like a J) she is living with her Grandmother Margaret Thomas aged 88 at Tontine St, Swansea which ties in with the Mar cert. I have not been able to find a birth cert for her. In 1851 Census I have found a Margaret Thomas (mother-in-law) living with a Edmond family in Swansea and they have a daughter Margaret Jane Edmond of the right age.
What I need is some suggestions of how I can prove that they are one and the same, if they are? Any help would be very much appreciated.
