« on: Monday 09 July 12 23:45 BST (UK)  »
Hi im trying to find the Sincup Family, ..... would really like the birth of Elizabeth Sincup mainly.

Here is what i have....

Elizabeth Sincup b 1856 Shropshire married Thomas Hulse at St Clement Longsight Lancashire Feb 9th 1885. now according to LDS  and the registers on there it gives Elizabeth Father as William Sincup.

I have Elizabeth in the 1861 Census with grandfather Thomas Sincup b 1803 Eccleshill Staffordshire, with two Uncles and a possible Uncle in Law- although on A*ry its down as her father Levi Phillips.

in 1871 census Elizabeth is again with Thomas Sincup but his birth is down as 1809.

and so on with the Marriage 1885.

I have tried to find a birth for Elizabeth but no Joy.

now William Sincup i can not find on the census either, i have two baptisms one William b1826 Hanley Staffordshire and Two James born 1828 Hanley Staffordshire, both to parents Thomas and Ellen.

I have Richard b 1843 and John b1846 to Thomas and Elizabeth.

But where are they , there is just no Thomas before 1861 census..... no William to say with daughter Elizabeth

any help is greatly appreciated

Yorkshire (West Riding) / Please help find Kate Hinchcliffe mother please
« on: Friday 11 May 12 13:16 BST (UK)  »
Hi all, im trying to find the mother of Kate Hinchcliffe born 1889 Leeds. here is what i have got so far:

My 2nd Gt Grand Uncle is John Ford b1845 Castleford, on the 1891  Census he is listed as head of house at birth abt 1847 at 10 Darlings Yard, Commison agent. he has Kate Hinchcliffe living with him aged 2 as Visitor.

In 1901 Census John Ford is Married to Elizabeth Jacklyn M 1896 Nottinghamshire. They are living at 44 Cambridge Street Leeds again insurance agent Kate is now as Kate Ford and listed as Daughter aged 17. mother is listed as School Mistress.

In 1911 Census They are living at 109 Swarthorne lane Castleford Again Kate is down as Ford, but if you look at Elizabeth and John they have no children to the marriage.  both Kate and Elizabeth are school teachers at county council School.

In 1917 Kate married Tom Houldsworth at All Saints church Castleford, and lists John Ford as her father. Elizabeth Ford is witness. address 109 Swarthorne Lane.

Kate Dies in 1982, John Dies in 1920 and his will does not mention Kate just his wife Elizabeth. which is short and sweet.

I have recieved the birth cert for Kate Hinchcliffe 1889 Leeds. and she was born 3 April 1889 at 18 Melville Place Leeds. Mother is Kate Hinchcliffe School Mistress- No father details.

ive tried to search for Kate Hinchcliffe school mistress but cant seem to find any?.

any help greatly appriciated on putting this little puzzle together.

Hi all,

Im trying to find out the where abouts of George Averill , Charles Peaker and Chrisita Williamson in the 1871 census.

Charles Peaker boirn 1854 in Wakefield to George Peaker and Elizabeth Rusby, in 1881 he is in Scotland with wife Christiana born 1853 Dundee to Jane and Andrew Williamson.

accroding to marriage of Charles and Chrisitina in 1884 in Dundee Chrisitina is widow of George Averille.

George is a ploughman

the children in the 1891 census are Sadie Averlle b1874 USA , Margaret Averille b 1876 Loclee, Chrisitina Peaker b 1878 Dundee, Henry Peaker b 1883 Dundee, Jeanie Peaker b 1885 Dundee.

they are transcribed quite awfully though.

now presuming Christina isnt married to George in 1871 where is she? plus where is George Averille and also Charles

im thinking George is still alive in 1881 but where and seperated from Christina, as she is listed with Charles there as wife, but no till 1884 .

any help is greatly appriciateed

Yorkshire (West Riding) / Who is Frank Dobsons father??
« on: Monday 13 February 12 23:27 GMT (UK)  »
Hi All,

I Was wondering if any one could help me out,

Frank Dobson b 1886 Armley to Catherine Dobson nee Francis, and who i thought was William Dobson father???.

In 1875 William Dobson marries Catherine Francis at St Peters Church Leeds,
Children are :

Mary Jane Francis b 1877
Naomi b 1878
William b 1879
John Francis Dobson b 1882
Frank b 1886

Now in 1881 William is with Catherine living at 13 Canal Road, Armley with children Naomi and William ( Mary and John die within a year of birth)

William is a Labourer in Iron Works.

In 1891 census Catherine is Widowed living at 9 Canal Road, Armley with children Naomi, william and Frank.

now in 1902 there is a baptism for Frank Dobson at Armley ( Parish Chaplary im presuming st Barts ) but to Parents James Maley & Catherine Dobson of 9 Canal Road , Armley Transcibed as Bobson.

so who is Franks Father ??? in 1913 Frank marries Edith Starkey and again he lists his father as William who is decesead, living at 3 Canal Road, But the marriage is crossed out on A*** and says copied a Second time 344 Mistake???? there is no withness's etc.

now i think William death is 1884 registerd as Bramley, it certainly fits,

but just to throw a spanner in works Franks sister Naomi baptism 1878 says William as her father, but on her marriage to John Beckwith it states her father is Frank Dobson in 1895 ???

I know its the correct person as in 1911 Naomi is widowed and living with her mother and brother Frank

any help is greatly appriciated

Europe / Belgium passenger lists need help please :)
« on: Saturday 28 January 12 18:57 GMT (UK)  »
Hi all there is a Story that so far has collaberated , but i just cant find any passenger lists from England to Belgium is there any available??.

The story goes.....

My gt grandfather one day found some Belgium people lodging in his sheds, and he helped them over a few weeks get back on there feet, in return for his hospitallity they offered him to go over and help them in there business. now Louis Rens was the Begium and it was to do with the Antwerp Diamonds, now i have got that part confirmed by the Rens family that are now in South Africa, through there family history, but what i cannot find is the passenger records of him travelling....

This would be around 1920's to 1940's, according to family stories and i may add my grandfather and mother been some of them, but then after my grandfather has died and ive met his brother just recently he has also told me the same tale, plus another of my grandfathers siblings daughters has been in touch through my tree and also mentioned this tale. That Gt Grandfather William Darling Ford kept on going over to Belgium to the Rens family , leaving Gran Maud to bring up the children, and she never worked only by laying the people out in the coffins for people to visit there deceased loved ones. but didnt get paid for this, how did she survive without money.... Gt grandfather was paid plenty by the Rens and he sent it over to her.

if anyone could point me in the right direction of some kind of passenger lists for belgium that would be great, ive checked the usual An **** y ones but nothing.

William Darling Ford, b1879 , from Leeds, occupation FishHawker and Grocer

any help greatly appriciated
