Hi,

Does anyone have any experiences regarding converting a set of microfiche parish records to files that can be viewed on the PC. I have several hundred pages of them so the idea of trying to do it myself doesn't appeal. Any views on how to do this, who do avoid, who is good will be much appreciated.

Hi All,

One of my relatives has on his death certificate (in 1886) that he was in the union workhouse in Brentford. Would there be records of his admission in the LMA archives as I can't seem to find anything on their online catalogue?

Free Photo Restoration & Date Old Photographs / Date of Photograph

Hi,

i have posted a photo on the armed services board http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,451942.0.html which mentions a HMS Cleopatra and was taken by Major v Warker of Falmouth and Camborne.

Does anyone know when this might have been taken? I am trying to work out which HMS Cleopatra is it and who is in the photo.

I was wondering if anyone would be able to date when this photo was taken? Also are there any crew lists for the HMS Cleopatra that the cap mentions? I can't seem to find any any.

Hampshire & Isle of Wight / Beer House in Shipton

Hi,

One of my relatives was a beer house keeper in Shipton for some period between 1901 and 1904 (but after the 1901 census). Did anyone know if there would be any records that would show him?
Also would there be any local newspapers from around that time?
