Thank you all for the information.  On his son's death certificate, it gives his parents as John Skipper and Ann Barber.  I had found the one for Ann Smith but thought there could be another. Another of the mysteries of genealogy. Thanks. ;D

Sorry for not replying sooner, son and grandkids arrived for Xmas and haven't had a sane moment since.  I have no parents for my John Caswell Davies, so am wondering if this is his father.  Will have to dig a bit further.  Would love the info on this one, just in case he's mine.  Can't imagine there would be too many around with a name like that.
