Kent Lookup Requests / Re: Brabourne Baptisms - KINGSMILL
« on: Tuesday 04 May 10 08:23 BST (UK)  »
Thank you so much for looking into this family Lis.
The William and other Kingsmills of Smeeth are related cousins.  This William from Brabourne remains a mystery.   In the censuses his birthplace is Brabourne 1811/12 and in later ones his daughter Ann (b1854) is shown as the grandchild of Comfort (b1783).  Comfort Kingsmill and Rebecca Crayford married in 1814 so I wondered if he was the son from an earlier as yet unknown relationship of Comfort's.  Of course his father might not have been listed if William was illegitimate at the time.

Thanks to Carole and Tressle for such quick replies.  All I have been able to establish is that his wife Mary Ann is buried at St Clements (this was from a web site) and we know that they lived at Skegness.  Her death would have been registered by my grandparents in Notts as she died at their house.  I guess William may have died with or at a home close to one of his other relatives in Lincolnshire.  His age for the Louth entry is as expected.

I hope that this is the appropriate place to ask.  I am trying to establish if my Great Grandfather William Doxey is buried at Skegness St Clements in 1948.
Thanks

Many thanks Kaycee, but it is specifically baptisms and especially for Ernest Stanley Gilbert.
As Geoff has noted, Joseph died in Infancy.  He is commemorated on his parent's grave and I assume buried at Cox's Hill.

Looking for my close family: Ernest S Gilbert and his 2 younger brothers Hermann and Joseph christenings in or around 1899, 1907 and 1909 respectively as they are not in the Holy Trinity registers despite his older brother's christening being there.
Thanks
Chris Gilbert
