Anglesey / Looking for infomation regarding Farms
« on: Saturday 03 August 13 02:00 BST (UK)  »
On my GG Grandparents marriage certificate (1840) both their fathers are down as Farmers. GG Grandfather John Owen's father, Rice Owen, is down as Gentleman Farmer. GG Grandmother Emma Elias's father William Elias, is down as Farmer.I would like to know the name of the farms also what type of farm, livestock, cereal or vegatables?. Also, did they own these farms or were they tenants. Any other information would be greatly appreciated. I would really like to know more than just their names.Oh nearly forgot, place of residence is Llantrisant for the Owen family, and Cregiau which I think is in Lanbadrog for the Elias family.
Thank you.

Information needed about Richard Evans and Family who lived in Aberwheeler about 1843. That would have been at the time of his daughter Mary's marriage to Robert Jones. This is all that I know about him and would dearly like to know more.
 Thanks,Brmaenda.

Derbyshire / Sladen. Wirksworth/ Derby and Deal/Sandwich Kent link
« on: Saturday 08 December 12 04:46 GMT (UK)  »
Does anyone know of the link between the Sladens of Deal/Sandwich in Kent, and Derby/ Wirksworth in Derbyshire. Some of my Sladen ancestors were born in Wirksworth and some in Derby The last ancestor I have is Thomas Sladen born in Derby in1759. I have conflicting knowledge about when he married, maybe because of the same names of some family members, also I am having trouble going backwards from him. I was told of the Derbyshire Kent link but have no solid evidence, so I am a little bit confused.   Can anyone please help me. Thanks.

Thank you so much for that William.
Now I can move on with this partof the family. Robert Jones and Mary Evans were my G Grandparents and I know that they definitely lived in Bodfari. My Dad, William Jones, and my Grand-dad Robert Jones were born in Waen Cottage in Aberwheeler, Bodfari.
I can't wait to get moving on this.
Thanks again.

Hello,
I am not too sure about the place of marriage but I think it was in St George, near Abegele. Iam trying to connect them with my G. Grandfather, who, when he was married( to Mary Evans) lived in Aberwheeler. I think they could maybe be G.Grandfather's parents. I am having so much trouble with this line of the family. I suppose the name Jones doesn't make it any easier!
So pleased that someone answered my query.
Thank you.

I have just been on the site you sent me and that family all ties in.
So it seems that my gggparents were George Frith and Jane Gaunt.
Joseph had a son named George (maybe after his father) and a daughter named Harriet, maybe after his sister.  This seems to fit in, don't you think. Thanks again.
