Handwriting Deciphering & Recognition / Latin help

I once saw online a reproduction of a Latin book published perhaps in Victorian era

I was a useful guide to the endings e.g. a kind of handwritten symbol similar to a z is -ibus

I know of other resources includin the Nationa Archives, but have struggled to fin this one which I thought the best I had seen

Any ideas?

Admittedly it did not go back too far, but the tangled life of her father and her grandparents made interesting viewing
I also understand why his father never mentioned his wartime experiences, it seems a common theme

Technical Help / Getting new computer

Old one blew up on Tues (fortunately hard drives intact). THe graphics board fan blades shot of at an angle, taking out graphics board, then shortly after power supply

It is due for a replacement.

Getting (possibly dual quad core) 64 bit computer - any thingto worry about - does all software run OK
Will be on Windows 7

I want to reload my existing software - Office (old version) , FTM2012, Frontpage, Photoshop elements- any problems likely?
(I remember at work having to use Windows 95 in a virtual PC setup to see some diagnostic software running when we went from 16 to 32 bit)

Europe / Suddenly a Spanish Connection

Having been doing a lot of family history for > 12 years , I had no clue of any foreign ancestry in my tree

Even my family name (Douglas) I have never managed to reach north of the border.

I have had for some time a Catalina Brewster in my tree, auddenly traced the Brewsters back and her grandmother is a Catalina, then tracked the marriage eventually to being a Catalina Johnson.

Temporary dead end until I found a transcript of a Roger Cole whose beneficiaries include his daughter Catalina Johnson (so presumably a widow)

OK now I am purely on pedigrees no original evidence, but from these I found that Catalina Cole's grandmother was Catalina de Gallegos daughter of Fedinando de Gallegos of spanish nobility

I have found a book
Nobiliario de los reinos y señorios de España (revisado por A. Rujula y Busel). (1859)
on the Internet Archive

It includes a chapter called
Reseña Histórica de Los Marqueses de Gallegos - which I think is about this family


I am struggling rather with long names particularly where they end with (name) de (name) y (name or place) y (name or place)

Are there any useful guides around?
