The Common Room / Anyone found an Inquisition Post Mortem
« on: Sunday 01 November 20 22:30 GMT (UK)  »
JUst Found that my Ancestor Edward Master/Maisters has problably had an inquisition post mortem and there are two documents listed on TNA just after his death in 1582.

Obvioously not going to be a goood time to go there

But wondering what might be there. I do not now edward's ancestor, he mentions a ship he owns in his will and some kin in Walton on the Naze, but the above refer to Kent

Edward died in Rotherhithe

I ihave found this on two occasions
My Great great grandfather George Jackson placed this ad about his second wife Ann nee Turner
George was a busy man, a mine manager and remarried within two months after the decease of his first wife Sally, presumably to look after the younger children
The article was from 1875 in the Barnsley Chronicle

The Second one was from a more distant relative, Alfred Ernest Bishop, born in England, but emigrated to Canada (BC) just before WW1 only to imediately enlist. He found time to  marry in Elngland to Constance (connie) Kildare , and on his  demobilisation was send back to Canda on a dependants ship in 1919. He placed this notice in the Victoria Daily Times in 1920. He appears according to Censuses to have later divorced her, he later lived in California.

Cheshire / St Paul's Werneth (Compstall Bridge)
« on: Monday 18 March 19 14:23 GMT (UK)  »
Hi
Anyone know if these registers are available
I found a marriage licence for Marriage of Ann Bond and Richard Thompson (a widower) here 1855
Cheshire BMD shows there marriage too , but these do not appear to be included in the Cheshire records online at FindMyPast or elsewhere.

These are not my direct ancestors, but I am descended from the Bond line and following up a link with  a potential distant cousin

Thanks

Bob

United States of America / Samuel Henry Holmes jun
« on: Friday 03 November 17 17:16 GMT (UK)  »
I have recently located the death and burial for above
To summarise what I already know
b 1911 to Samuel Henry Holmes and Helen Pauline Hore in New York
Married Rebecca Ruth Conger 23.3.1940 at her home in Warsaw, Wyoming, New York State
He served as a private  in the Airforce Marines and was buried in the Long Island National Cemetery in Mar 1952 having died in Farmingdale on 11th Mar

As he was buried at a veteran's cemetery I was wondering if he died from injuries sustained in the War.
I have found records of Ruth not remarried in 1957 (newspaper report)

Wondering if anyone with more access to US records can add anything?

THANKS
