Thanks for replies.
It seems to me from the newspaper article that Miss Campbell and Mrs Fox just came together for the rescue. The article says they were walking apart. .  I have been in touch with the RNLI  and they confirm whats in the paper but don't have any further information.  It would have been handy if Mrs Fox's first name was given.  I'm sure someone out there has more info.

In 1871 there was there was a shipwreck in Bettystown.  Two ladies saved one of the crewmen and he was taken to Mrs. Grants Hotel to recover from his ordeal. The ladies were  Mrs. Fox and Miss Jane Campbell.   Does anyone have further info on the ladies and is the hotel still there.
Thanks.

Thanks for that Cyril.  Im not sure if it will get me any further with my search.
You see I think the parents of  Mary Elizabeth, Charles and possibly Ellen died when the children were very young. There seems to be some connection with Nurney....but I just cant find what is that connection .. Mary Elizabeth used to go back visiting Nurney as an adult... but where?

Hello , just wondering if you got any more info on the lawlers  ( C my msg to you )
Thanks

I think this is the correct family.
I have a marriage cert. for Thomas and Rosanna for these dates.  I also have birth certs for their two children . There may have been a third child  Ellen. I didnt get that cert yet.
Thomas is shown as a "car owner"  Rosanna as a "farmer".
At time of marriage and birth of two children they are shown as living in Moorefield Newbridge.

I would like to know did Thomas and Rosanna live in  Nurney at some stage.
When would they have died.  Indeed any info on this family.
Thanks in advance .
