Hello

I am looking to any information on the above names.  All seem to be from Stranraer.  John Ferguson married Jane Aitcheson in 1859  his parents were William and Martha (Parks), Janes father was Alexander who was a blacksmith and mother Mary (Gunlock).  I have found an Alexander baptised at Inch 1795, can anyone tie these in with their family  ;D

« on: Sunday 08 August 10 12:07 BST (UK)  »
Hello
I wondered if anyone could tell me how I could find out what crime a female relative did in 1897 which caused her to be imprisoned at Greenock and give birth there.  The birth was registered by the prison governor.  Any help would be most appreciated.

Ireland / Foley in Ireland
« on: Monday 02 August 10 20:39 BST (UK)  »
Hi, this is a very long shot as I very little information.  I am looking for Edward Foley who married a Margaret Doyle/Dyal they had a son Patrick around 1844/46 In Ireland, Patrick moved to Greenock Scotland and in 1867 married Agnes Canavan.  I am assuming that Edward and family were catholics as Patrick married in a catholic church.  On the marriage cert it says both parents are dead by 1867, I just do not know where to start looking
many thanks

« on: Sunday 02 May 10 23:05 BST (UK)  »
Hello

I am looking for William Mitchell b1867 Greenock, married to Agnes Sweeney b1871.  Agnes remarries in 1905 but on the marriage cert she states that she is a spinster and uses her maiden name of Sweeney.  She also gets married in Glasgow while living in Greenock with Joseph Branchfield who is her second husband.  I cannot find William anywhere but I know on one of their childrens marriage cert 1906 it says deceased.  Is anyone else searching this part of the tree, this is my very large brick wall!!
many thanks
Kathy
